Reviews

As part of the Yoga Alliance Social Credentialing system, teachers that register with Yoga Alliance must submit a review of the RYS training program they completed.

Feedback from trainees provides Registered Yoga Schools with the opportunity to understand their trainees’ experiences in order to continually improve their trainings.

By choosing to display comments, schools enable trainees to provide insight into a school’s culture and training which helps potential trainees choose the right teacher training for their individual path with yoga.

Youth Alliance Yoga's 95hr certification program was amazing! It's very comprehensive, covering a broad array of developmental stages, how to approach each stage in classes, and how to be culturally respectful and equitable as a children's yoga teacher in a variety of spaces. All of the assignments provide great practice with lesson planning and translating material to different age groups and the live virtual workshops allow plenty of space to ask questions with a variety of talented teachers. Program director Erin is an inspirational treasure trove of knowledge and resources, and it's so clear she is passionate about this work. I would highly recommend this program to anyone interested in an education-centered youth yoga training!

I absolutely loved this training and, as a graduate, feel well-prepared to teach children's yoga. While much of the training is geared toward people teaching in an educational/school setting, I have been able to use the information very well in teaching independently and to my homeschool group. I am in love with the huge manual that was provided to me in this training. It has incredible graphics and information, with a lot of child development information that can help people to understand how to interact and teach with various age groups. I am grateful for the information in the training regarding trauma-informed yoga, the discussions on cultural appropriation, and how to navigate teaching yoga in environments where there might be some push-back to the perception of religion or spirituality in yoga. I attended a couple of sessions one on one with Jill, which made me feel like more part of the YAY! community than just working through the assignments and recorded Zoom sessions on my own. I especially loved watching DuShaun's segments! She is amazing. Everyone's different perspectives and advice throughout the training were really helpful in deciding what kind of children's yoga teacher I wanted to be. The podcasts were interesting and brought up so many different topics, bringing in various experts to help teach. The assignments were frequent, but mostly short. I loved being able to tell exactly what I needed to do to move on to the next step. The lay out of the course is great and makes sense. This is a wonderful school. I only wish they offered more trainings, because I would sign up for anything they put out. I highly recommend this school for its content, trainers, ease of use, flexibility, and price. Excellent value for an excellent children's yoga certification program.
