Yoga Alliance (YA), a member-based association that advances the development and livelihood of yoga professionals and advocates for safety and accessibility in yoga, is seeking an Accountability Advisor to join its team. What You'll Do

You’ll be responsible for assisting Yoga Alliance members, practitioners, and other individuals through YA’s processes relating to grievances. As such, you must be empathetic and flexible as well as a creative problem-solver in the midst of sometimes difficult conversations. You’ll manage a diverse set of in-bound complaints that arise from the yoga community regarding yoga professionals across multiple work situations (e.g., schools and trainees, employment disputes, trademark infringement, teacher-student relationships).

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to grievances received through YA’s Accountability department
  • Conduct investigations and render evidence-based solutions
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of and familiarity with YA’s standards, credentials, and policies
  • Support and advise YA staff on policy application and accountability requirements
  • Communicate policy and procedure efficacy and implementation to YA department leads

Who You Are

  • Subject matter knowledge on the field of yoga and/or yoga teaching
  • Experience in managing internal or organizational grievances
  • Experience in communicating sensitive and confidential material with integrity and excellence
  • Experience in customer service or other relationship-oriented functions

We are celebrating our twentieth anniversary this year and are experiencing a moment of exciting growth and transformation.


What You'll Do

You’ll be responsible for managing content and programming that supports Marketing and Communications’ goals and objectives as well as those of the broader YA and YAF organizations, including building member engagement and promoting continuing education of members, while also driving social consciousness. You will work to create, curate, and bring to life inspirational, aspirational, and educational content that adds value to the membership and the yoga community broadly. You will report directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Build the content/editorial calendar for channel (print, online, social, onsite, etc.) and format (podcast, workshop, video, animation, etc.)
  • Manage the development and implementation of Yoga Alliance’s online continuing education library through creating and curating content that supports schools and teachers on their lifelong journeys of learning
  • Leverage YA platforms such as the research literacy project, #metoo/consent, and DIAE to engage with members and position YA as a thought leader
  • Create initiatives to crowd-source user-generated content from members
  • Develop, execute, and improve all related processes (ideation, curation, production, delivery, quality)
  • Ensure that elements are on brand and consistent with style, quality, tone, etc. and are optimized for the user experience
  • Evaluate administration of educational programming to ensure that it aligns with current and future trends and industry standards
  • Act as project lead for podcasts, webcasts, and social media events to administer workflows, meet production deadlines, and meet project timelines, as needed
  • Act as moderator for workshops, as needed
  • Identify, develop, and foster relationships with content providers, thought leaders, SMEs, etc.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Education, Journalism, or other related field of study
  • Minimum of five years of similar professional experience preferred
  • Subject matter knowledge of the field of yoga and/or yoga teaching
  • Subject matter knowledge on delivering educational content efficiently and effectively
  • Natural storyteller or educator
  • Ability to operate strategically and tactically
  • Ability to conceptualize, research, scope, script, produce, and edit
  • Proactive in nature
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage time and multiple deadlines efficiently

We are celebrating our twentieth anniversary this year and are experiencing a moment of exciting growth and transformation.


What You'll Do

You’ll be responsible for developing and executing all marketing initiatives through various digital touchpoints – from the website to social media to emails to newsletters. You will be an integral part of the day-to-day ways in which the yoga community interacts with Yoga Alliance and will serve as the point person for all things “digital” within YA and the Yoga Alliance Foundation. You will report directly to the Director of Marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the YA and YAF website(s)
  • Plan and design site content, style, and appearance, working closely with the Creative Director, to ensure consistency of structure, adhering to brand guidelines including imagery, voice, and design
  • Identify and use systems and develop processes to improve workflow and leverage efficiencies in order to influence input, creation, design, approval, and execution
  • Identify, track, and use website analytics to make recommendations and adjust as need be for enhanced user experience and streamlined navigation
  • Monitor social media through YA channels as well as the overall conversation about YA via social media, staying ahead of conversations and positioning YA and the YAF in the best possible light
  • Leverage Instagram Stories, FaceBook Live, and other digital marketing extensions
  • Present and execute new social media and other marketing programs through staying ahead of digital marketing trends
  • Ideate and execute digital animations as well as still infographics, working with the Creative Director and Digital Video Producer, to support overall marketing programs and membership initiatives

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Communications, or other related field of study
  • Five years’ Marketing and Communications experience with oversight in digital channels
  • Interest in metrics and the application of analytics in the decision-making process
  • Knowledge of yoga or yoga teaching, beyond a practioner’s experience
  • Proven experience as a web editor with a UX mentality
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML, XHTML, CSS Design, Javascript, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign CMS)

We are celebrating our twentieth anniversary this year and are experiencing a moment of exciting growth and transformation.

The Executive Assistant will provide high-level administrative support to the COO by preparing reports, handling information requests, and performing administrative functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, coordinating meetings and conferences; assisting and managing special projects, as requested, and managing calendar invites. Such support will range from routine to complex and may involve highly confidential information. The person in this role will maintain a position of visibility to internal and external Yoga Alliance stakeholders, representing the COO’s office with positive and friendly professionalism and high attention to detail.


What You'll Do

  • Manage and maintain the COO’s schedule, including sending and receiving calendar invites in Microsoft Outlook
  • Schedule and organize meetings, travel, conferences, and department activities for the organization as needed and in partnership with the Executive Assistant to the CEO
  • Prepare reports, memos, letters, and other documents, using Microsoft’s suite of office products and/or other tools as needed
  • File and retrieve corporate documents, records, and reports
  • Coordinate and follow-up to ensure all meetings are calendared properly and effectively
  • Take notes at meetings on behalf of the COO
  • Handle and safeguard confidential and sensitive company and personal information
  • Organize and prioritize multiple tasks and complete them under strict time constraints
  • Coordinate and track project-based work to ensure that timelines, goals, objectives, and deliverables are met using AchieveIt and/or other project management tools and software
  • Liaise with internal staff at all levels; communicate regularly with the executive team
  • Complete COO expense reports
  • Additional responsibilities as required by the COO

What You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field required
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet navigation and databases
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working in an Executive Assistant role
  • Strong interest in and/or knowledge of yoga and wellness
  • Strong grammatical and proofreading skills

What You'll Do

You’ll serve as Yoga Alliance’s first point of contact by responding to incoming questions by phone and email. You’ll be responsible for providing education and information about the Yoga Alliance credentialing system, policies, benefits of membership, account navigation, and more. You’ll also engage in proactive community outreach to support membership satisfaction and retention. You must be comfortable using technology platforms such as Microsoft Office, databases, ticketing systems, Association Management Systems and/or Customer Relationship Systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality, personable, friendly and professional customer service to respond to member needs and concerns.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communications skills. Develop, draft and share responses that align with Yoga Alliance’s culture, brand and writing style guide.
  • Assist members with navigating the Association Management System to register, renew, submit continuing education, access benefits, and more.
  • Relay accurate information to educate the community about Yoga Alliance standards, policies, member benefits, and initiatives.
  • Express complex concepts in a clear, diplomatic and tactful manner. Remain positive, composed and professional while working with members in a fast-paced environment.
  • Act as a Tier 1 help desk agent to help members interact with our technology system. Submit tickets to the IT team to solve problems.
  • Ability to take initiative to complete tasks and determine solutions to solve problems.
  • Engage in proactive outreach to welcome new members, build retention and engage the community.
  • Work in a collaborative team environment as a leader to take initiative to solve problems and remain flexible in a dynamic environment for an organization that is experiencing growth and positive change.

Who You Are

  • 1 year of work experience in customer service-oriented industry such as membership, retail or hospitality.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills. Experience with responding to emails and phone calls for a business to align with an organizational writing style and brand.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Excellent technology skills: Microsoft Office, databases, software programs, tracking logs, AMSs and CRMs.
  • Experience with writing articles or blogs for a business or experience with working in communications, marketing and/or public relations is a plus.

What You'll Do

You will be responsible for day-to-day communications, media relations, and public relations support within the Marketing and Communications department. You’ll be the initial point of contact for all members of the media with Yoga Alliance. You will report directly to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively build relationships with members of the media
  • Pitch stories to the media and members of the yoga community
  • Write short- and long-form communications for press releases and advisories, web pages, blog posts, scripts, articles, social media, etc., working with the copywriter(s) and tailoring content according to audience and desired call to action
  • Serve as point person for YA’s speakers bureau, arranging for speaking engagements for YA executives and spokespersons

What You'll Do

You’ll report to the COO and be responsible for oversight and management of all company corporate legal and regulatory matters and work closely with the Accountability team and our external legal counsel to provide legal guidance on trademark violations, sexual misconduct claims and other associated member grievances.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise management on general organizational contracts, third-party agreements, and vendor supplier relationships
  • Bring and pursue lawsuits, including draft/argue pre-trial motions, handle depositions, participate in trial with/without a jury, and handle appeals in conjunction with external legal counsel
  • Manage general litigation and external counsel relationships
  • Assist management with employment law concerns, claims, and company policies
  • Ensure compliance with trademarks, patents, intellectual property, and trade secrets
  • Create business legal reports and correspondence and effectively present information to senior management
  • Respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies, customers, and the business community
  • Research and anticipate legal risks

What You'll Have

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in legal studies or related field
