Yoga Alliance (YA) is the global, independent member organization that advances the development and livelihood of yoga professionals and advocates for safety and accessibility in yoga. A related public charity, the Yoga Alliance Foundation (YAF), is an emerging field leader in yoga-based social impact dedicated to increasing access to yoga for populations that have traditionally been under-served, under-represented, and marginalized in/by it.

Together, these two organizations support yoga teachers to more fully grow into their role as leaders in their communities. YA supports yoga teachers’ growth as professionals. YAF develops vehicles for direct social impact, such as programs that enable those professional teachers to serve within communities that have typically been excluded from yoga.

The Credentialing Advisor is responsible for assessing and making registration determinations for Registered Yoga School (RYS) applications in order for them to receive the Yoga Alliance credential. This includes evaluating school applications to ensure they are in compliance with Yoga Alliance Standards and serving as an educational resource to current and prospective members. The Credentialing Advisor is responsible for initiating and maintaining effective member service care, including timely correspondence with co-workers and applicants.


Responsibilities:

  • Rigorously assess yoga school applications for adherence to the Yoga Alliance Standards required to meet Yoga Alliance credential eligibility
  • Maintain professional relationships with applicants during and after the application process
  • Respond in a timely manner to Credentialing email and phone inbox, consulting, as needed, with Member Services department to provide high level service and coordinated response across areas
  • Consult with Accountability department regarding grievance and compliance issues with applicants
  • Support organizational priorities as well as support department specific projects
  • Support the IT department with user experience testing as needed
  • Support Standards and Credentialing Manager in on-boarding new Credentialing staff
  • Additional responsibilities as requested by Credentialing and Yoga Alliance leadership
  • Coach fellow IT staff in project management processes, methods, and best practices to accelerate the effectiveness of initiatives

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Desire to support the yoga community, has an appreciation of yoga, and/or has completed yoga trainings and/or yoga education courses
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • A strong understanding of credentialing process and standards
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Solid computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to effectively time-manage and consistently meet individual and departmental goals
  • Previous experience in a customer service environment a plus

The Opportunity:

Reporting to Yoga Alliance’s Acting President and Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O), the Managing Director (M.D.) of the Yoga Alliance Foundation will translate the organization’s vision into a portfolio of programs that amplifies opportunities for yoga to transform and heal.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a leader to: identify promising community programs; develop grantmaking approaches that support program expansion and scale; measure outcomes; incorporate learning into future initiatives; and engage new donors. Humble, collaborative, and disciplined, the M.D. must bring a track record building partnerships that have led to equity and access in marginalized communities.

Detailed responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Acting President and C.E.O. to develop approaches that leverage YAF’s currently available investments ($9M+) and provide a strong platform that will encourage new contributions to expand this work. Support the Acting President and C.E.O.’s strategic engagement with an impact- focused YA board committee;
  • Identify community-based partners that skillfully implement authentic, inclusive and measurable health and wellness programs;
  • Identify and build deep relationships that generate funding for program initiatives and pilots;
  • Model Yoga Alliance/Yoga Alliance Foundation’s core values – and genuine service -- in all interactions;
  • Test, measure and iterate approaches that measurably expand programs and/or seek to fundamentally change the ability to scale yoga’s service to marginalized communities;
  • Develop, and apply, disciplined and transparent grantmaking criteria;
  • As initiatives expand, create a learning community of partners with shared goals;
  • Partner closely with colleagues across YA/YAF to deepen synergies;
  • Leverage skills and central services from Yoga Alliance (communications, finance, HR, etc.) that enhance program support to partners and ensure the Foundation’s agility;
  • Recruit, mentor, manage and retain a high-performing team of three to four with clear roles and tools to succeed; drive professional development and a positive, empowering performance culture;
  • Promote mindsets and actions focused on service, creativity, innovation, continuous improvement, and learning.

Qualifications:

Yoga Alliance Foundation’s Managing Director must bring a track record of community service in the health or wellness field and operational excellence in a nimble environment; and, ideally:

  • Identified and shaped innovative program approaches that integrate community voice, have delivered measurable outcomes and have been replicated;
  • Engaged program partners, volunteers and donors in a common direction; and
  • Expanded access to evidence-based programs

We are celebrating our twentieth anniversary this year and are experiencing a moment of exciting growth and transformation. The IT Business Analyst will work bridge the gap between business ideas and business capabilities, scoping, developing and executing valuable changes and optimizations to our business processes.

What You'll Do

You’ll play an important role in asking the relevant and sometimes difficult questions, discovering underlying business processes, documenting business rules along with the associated business process flow and producing use and test cases. Some of the systems we have deployed or are in the process of deploying are: an AMS, CRM, various PM systems and an Intelligent Call Center Automation system as well as the use of chat bots, dashboards, ticketing systems and more.

Business Analysis Functions

  • Perform requirements analyses, documenting processes and performing user acceptance testing as needed
  • Determine and document user requirements for business processes and abide by those requirements for future projects
  • Manage functional team testing and tasks to ensure all visual, functional and business-related defects are identified and resolved prior to deployment
  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information and evaluating output requirements and formats
  • Construct workflow charts and diagrams, studying system capabilities and writing specifications
  • Improve systems by studying current practices and designing modifications
  • Recommend controls by identifying problems and writing improved procedures

Application Support Functions

  • Responsible for managing daily systems support operations for YA while ensuring overall efficiency
  • Providing guidance and supervision as needed to the functional IT team
  • Delegating effectively and fostering a culture of accountability and regular feedback
  • Providing direction in analyzing and resolving escalated systems support issues
  • Assisting in triaging level I and level II tickets while working as a liaison between the development team and YA staff on level III tickets

Who You Are

You are a strong communicator who is able to problem solve and troubleshoot. You lead with inquiry and drive towards solutions. You have a proven track record of supporting and aligning processes with outcomes. You also are/have:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Business Management or related field
  • Minimum of six years’ relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visio or similar tool to create business process workflows
  • Proficiency in JIRA or similar applications
  • Proficiency in Achieveit, Wrike or other project management systems
  • Ability to manage and handle shifting priorities
  • Superior troubleshooting and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Technology background and non-profit experience a plus
  • Team player mentality but with the ability to work independently

Do you have a passion for serving the global yoga community? Do you want to communicate with yoga teachers and school owners all over the world? Join our team as a Member Support Rep! In this position, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to serve our members in the work that they do to bring yoga into the world. Member Support Reps represent Yoga Alliance as a first point of contact by responding to incoming questions by phone and email. They deliver high quality service by listening to requests and questions and finding appropriate solutions in a timely and effective manner. They are responsible for providing education and information about the Yoga Alliance credentialing system, policies, benefits of membership, account navigation, and more. They also engage in proactive community outreach to support membership satisfaction and retention. Member Support reps must be comfortable using technology platforms such as Microsoft Office, databases, ticketing systems, Association Management Systems and/or Customer Relationship Systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality, personable, friendly and professional customer service to respond to member needs and concerns
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communications skills. Develop, draft and share responses that align with Yoga Alliance’s culture, brand and writing style guide
  • Assist members with navigating the Association Management System to register, renew, submit continuing education, access benefits, and more
  • Relay accurate information to educate the community about Yoga Alliance standards, policies, member benefits, and initiatives
  • Express complex concepts in a clear, diplomatic and tactful manner. Remain positive, composed and professional while working with members in a fast-paced environment
  • Act as a Tier 1 help desk agent to help members interact with our technology system. Submit tickets to the IT team to solve problems
  • Ability to take initiative to complete tasks and determine solutions to solve problems
  • Engage in proactive outreach to welcome new members, build retention and engage the community
  • Work in a collaborative team environment as a leader to take initiative to solve problems and remain flexible in a dynamic environment for an organization that is experiencing growth and positive change

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of work experience in customer service-oriented industry such as membership, retail or hospitality
  • Superior oral and written communication skills. Experience with responding to emails and phone calls for a business to align with an organizational writing style and brand
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
  • Excellent technology skills: Microsoft Office, databases, software programs, tracking logs, AMSs and CRMs
  • Experience with writing articles or blogs for a business or experience with working in communications, marketing and/or public relations is a plus

Description:

We are seeking an organized, creative and detail-oriented Office Manager to join our team and use their skills to help our office run smoothly so that we may optimally serve our membership of more than 100,000 Registered Yoga Teachers and more than 6,000 Registered Yoga Schools. This person will interact with our entire staff and be responsible for a variety of office tasks and functions that include, but are not limited to: helping organize events and functions from concept to completion, arranging internal office moves, participating in special projects, maintaining relationships with vendors, drafting company-wide memos and correspondence and assisting with other administrative tasks as necessary. This position reports to the VP of People + Culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement office systems, layouts and procedures
  • Assist in planning in-house or off-site activities
  • Partner with the Culture Committee to generate creative ideas to enhance workplace culture
  • Supervise the maintenance and alteration of office areas and equipment
  • Negotiate purchase of office supplies, equipment and furniture in accordance with department budget
  • Track orders and maintain vendor relationships
  • Manage, sort and distribute incoming mail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to “think outside-the-box” and demonstrate creative problem solving
  • Associates degree or higher preferred
  • 2 or more years of office administration experience
