Welcome to Longwave Yoga, a beautiful yoga studio in Wilmington, NC, where our practice is inspired by a coastal lifestyle and the ever-changing current of life.

At Longwave Yoga, we welcome yogis from all walks of life and all levels of experience.  Our classes are based on Vinyasa sequencing, where body and breath move together, reflecting the ebb and flow of life. Through your practice, you’ll build strength and endurance, improve flexibility, and reduce tension. You’ll also hone your ability to live in the present moment, learn to navigate life’s waves with skill and stability, and bring joy and passion to the ride, one wave at a time.

Interested in becoming a yoga teacher? Join the Longwave Yoga Teacher Training 200 hour program! Our comprehensive training program will provide you with a strong foundation while celebrating your unique expression and creativity in teaching. In our training program you will receive a contemporary emphasis on living a present, balanced, and self-actualized life. You will gain knowledge from genuine experience and honest guidance, steeped in inquiry, observation, and a true integration of experiential learning. You will have constant encouragement to stay true to your authentic, life-long journey of practicing yoga and sharing yoga with others, and you will be prepared to teach full spectrum Vinyasa Flow classes that focus on creativity and mindfulness.

At Longwave, we believe in taking yoga off the mat - not just from a mental and lifestyle perspective (that too!) but also in the physical… Connection to nature is critical to restoring and uncovering inner harmony and reestablishing the connection to mind, body, and energy. Our studio believes in the adventure of yoga on and off the mat, and that is why we offer classes, workshops, and trainings in Yoga, SUP Yoga, and the seamless pranic-full experience of Yoga and Surf.

The Longwave Yoga studio is located on Racine Drive, across the street from Port City Java and just down the road from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, the Longwave Yoga community is fun loving, welcoming, adventurous, and ready for anything. We hope you’ll join us soon!

Reviews

As part of the Yoga Alliance Social Credentialing system, teachers that register with Yoga Alliance must submit a review of the RYS training program they completed.

Feedback from trainees provides Registered Yoga Schools with the opportunity to understand their trainees’ experiences in order to continually improve their trainings.

By choosing to display comments, schools enable trainees to provide insight into a school’s culture and training which helps potential trainees choose the right teacher training for their individual path with yoga.

Logan is amazing and will be a teacher of mine for life! I cannot even put into words the gratitude I feel towards going through this program, and I will value the experience for life.

The comprehensive nature of this training was a pleasant surprise, and I’d want to have this education no other way. Instructor (Logan) was incredible- a true teacher’s teacher, even amidst a variety of unprecedented challenges. Perhaps the biggest impact of this experience was the unexpected time commitment outside of scheduled hours. I personally wanted to make this level of commitment from the beginning, but the extent of this wasn’t clearly communicated/emphasized when signing up. Context: 12 week 200hr YTT with scheduled meetings: every-other weekend in person, and some virtual meetings throughout. 80 required hours were students’ responsibility to cover outside of committed in-person meetings. This resulted in stress for several students juggling other life responsibilities. This feedback was also communicated in person and I believe is being taken into consideration; ironically perhaps the shift to independent hours sounded like a response to previous complaints of long meeting-hours. This is likely an impossible target to reach (to meet everyone’s individual needs)— the big difference for me would be if the math was more clearly presented from the beginning. (I went in under the impression the ‘Omwork’ was 1-2 hours/week when it was at minimum 1+hour/day, daily. Again, this was the kind of commitment I wanted to make but didn’t realize this was the case until halfway through when I had to scramble and catch-up, rather than planning responsibly and with a clearer head, from the beginning.) Every other component (the actual content, approach, conversation, etc.) was great, which makes leaving such a long comment about this one (though clearly significant) detail seem silly! Hopefully this helps others and makes sense; Grateful for the whole thing~

Hi Gabe, Congratulations on your graduation! We appreciate your feedback on the amount of time the homework required. We also commend your dedication to the practices and reading. We are hopeful your efforts lead to great knowledge and an overall takeaway from the program that was transformational. We will be sure to communicate the recommended hours more clearly at the start of the program and highlight the syllabus on day one so people can plan accordingly. Thank you!

Absolutely incredible instruction. Logan had an incredible amount of knowledge and experience that she brought to the coursework, assignments, and practicum. Highly recommend this program. The only suggestion I would have for practitioners considering taking this program is to take the six-month course rather than 12 week course if working full time.
