Amanda comes from the world of athletics, originally from Michigan, growing up playing every sport imaginable and watching her parents play basketball and volleyball. She fell in love with yoga in high school during a Women in Sports Leadership Summit where yoga was an offered activity. The love of yoga continued when the practice became therapy after suffering multiple vertebra fractures while playing volleyball at Hillsdale College.
In 2013 Amanda left Michigan and moved to Wilmington. On her second day of living in Wilmington she got a job coaching club volleyball and teaching yoga. She spent 6 years observing how young athletic women support each other and are willing to play and try new things. This is what she likes to bring to her practice. Amanda specializes in a power yoga and yoga with a more playful and athletic spirit.
Amanda has called Longwave Yoga home for eight years owning it for one and credits it with deepen her spiritual and physical practice. She finished her 1st 200hr training through Holy Yoga in 2013 followed quickly by certifications in yoga with weights, yogalates, and aerial yoga. She also did a second 200 hour YTT at Longwave Yoga in 2020, an apprenticeship, and advance training. She is excited to share her passion for yoga with the Longwave Yoga community.
Her style combines her love of yoga and fitness. Amanda’s favorite classes to teach include Yoga Sculpt with weights, Vinyasa, Power, anything outdoors especially Full Moon Yin workshops, and of course Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga.
