As part of the Yoga Alliance Social Credentialing system, teachers that register with Yoga Alliance must submit a review of the RYS training program they completed.
Feedback from trainees provides Registered Yoga Schools with the opportunity to understand their trainees’ experiences in order to continually improve their trainings.
By choosing to display comments, schools enable trainees to provide insight into a school’s culture and training which helps potential trainees choose the right teacher training for their individual path with yoga.

The home environment and total immersion into yoga with Truly Helpful was a wonderful experience. Not only was Alan extremely knowledge in all aspects of yoga, but he is an outstanding teacher and Guru. I'm proud and happy to be one of his students. He treats each student as an individual and offers a curriculum, which balances all of the requirments you need, and want, in order to become a successful yoga instructor. He goes out of his way to accommodate any additional interests you may want to learn about yoga outside of the established curriculum. I found the spiritual and ritualistic aspects of his program to be very enriching, along with time spent on music, mantras, and sunset beach yoga. When signing up I was in deep stages of grief after loosing my adult son. I lost my way in life and all purpose. Along with that was I loosing my yoga lifestyle as well, with one of the main causes being, fear of meditating. I felt, if I didn't do something I'd go deeper into grief and become more and more unhealthy and empty. Alan and Berta, as well as my classmates were extremely supportive and compassionate, but more than that Alan incorporated ways to help me, such as the many different classes on breath work. While my grief is forever I've found ways to cope and attempt to stay healthy, body, mind and spirit for my other 2 adult children. And I'm back to practicing 2 times a day again. I mention this because I find Alan's program to be very unique and inspiring in that way, it's more personal, you feel as though you matter as more than a student. With this said, if you are looking for a tightly scheduled daily routine that is more about just getting through what's necessary to become certified, and is more along the lines of a commercial YTT, don't expect that here. I was looking for a program that placed the importance of the spiritual aspect as a high priority. I'd recently experienced several outside instructors having classes, which focused more on the physical, and going further from tradition in many other ways. and that was a turn off, so I searched for one that seemed, "grounded." Truly Helpful seemed to be what I was looking for, and it turned out to be perfect. Alan is well versed in all styles of yoga and can answer any questions you may have. The food was always fabulous, my bedroom was adorable. You leave there not only yoga healthy, but feeling as though this is now your yoga family.
