The Ananda Institute of Living Yoga has been established to help expand the awareness of yoga as a way of life for anyone, regardless of outward affiliation. Here at the Institute you will discover that yoga is not just a pose; it is a state of natural, intuitive poise that radiates outward from within. As the mighty oak grows from a tiny seed to give shelter to life around it, living yoga begins with meditation and inner awareness.

The Institute offers a plethora of trainings, practice opportunities, and satsangs at its Bothell, Lynnwood, and Seattle locations.

We are a certified RYS 200 and RYS 300 studio. We offer both Level 1  (200 hour) and Level 2 (300 hour) Yoga Teacher Training programs. Level 1 leads to RYT 200 certification and Level 2 leads to RYT 500 certification by Yoga Alliance. For details, visit

Reviews

As part of the Yoga Alliance Social Credentialing system, teachers that register with Yoga Alliance must submit a review of the RYS training program they completed.

Feedback from trainees provides Registered Yoga Schools with the opportunity to understand their trainees’ experiences in order to continually improve their trainings.

By choosing to display comments, schools enable trainees to provide insight into a school’s culture and training which helps potential trainees choose the right teacher training for their individual path with yoga.

Ananda Yoga is a comprehensive training in which all aspects of a yogic lifestyle is considered. The affirmations taught with the yoga postures are profound because they are not merely descriptive, but convey the essence of each asana in somatic reality and subtle deep effects on the mind.

They offered a thorough and comprehensive class. The asanas were taught precisely, but most importantly how to teach was the most transformative. I left with great confidence that I could walk into a class and give each student a great experience.

Ananda Yoga Teacher Training offered us the most supportive, friendly, and professional environment! The teachings cover from deep inside of yoga philosophy to practical anatomy. Now I look at the world different way, with more light, hope, love, and compassion. An extraordinary experience I had!!

The training is thorough and rigorous, taking me deep into my inner awareness of energy, joy and light while practicing asanas interspersed with stillness. The study of anatomy was balanced with inner attunement of energy. A life-changing transformational course.

It's the best place for a truly aspiring Yogi. They are the best yoga school with the most amazing teachers that I have ever come across.

Working with and learning from Murali was an invaluable experience and joy. I learned a lot about the postures, how to recognize proper and improper alignment, and how to use my words to guide a person into and out of a pose safely. I especially enjoyed when Murali taught. I also enjoyed attending Debra's class, where I could really feel the practical uses for yoga in a Zoom class setting that was highly accessible for all types of abilities. My other favorite was the Raja Yoga class on Thursday nights, which Murali and Peony both taught. I very much enjoyed the Hatha Yoga and the philosophy taught in these classes. As a mom of three, I found the course and coursework to be extremely challenging at times. It felt like a college semester. Having committed to a few other courses and some work in the field of archeology and anthropology, in addition to this course, I personally burned myself out a bit; however, I am glad I did all that I did. I feel very grateful that I had the opportunity to take this course on Zoom. I would recommend this course to other Ananda members looking to deepen their Ananda yoga practice and teach.
