I've been practicing yoga & meditation for 25+ years, and teaching since 2012.
I teach Hatha Yoga, which is the foundational form of Yoga that all other types are based on. It's the slow, stretchy-bendy kind of Yoga. In my classes & workshops, you'll learn to watch your breath, stretch and strengthen your body, and become consciously more powerful, yet relaxed.
What's a typical class like? We start by going inward, learning to watch our breath as it moves in our body, and how to let go of the chatter in our mind. Then we move our body into and out of beginner-level poses. We move into a pose, and learn to relax our mind while we hold the pose briefly. Then we slowly move out of the pose and draw the awakened energy into our body, where we can use it to calm our mind and lift us up. We finish with a final relaxation phase, where we lie still and let the energy of our efforts soak into our body, mind, and spirit, bringing us peace. It is a truly wonderful practice!
In addition to teaching yoga & meditation, I lead Energy-infused Vision Board retreats, and offer quarterly explorations that unite breath, body & spirit.
I'm a lead teacher for the RYT 200 program at Ananda Institute of Living Yoga in Bothell WA.
