Lucy Lomax, E-RYT 500, RPYT, YACEP, has been practicing yoga for 20 years and teaching yoga for 18 years. As a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider, Lucy teaches workshops and intensives oriented towards strengthening and lengthening areas of the body that have become stiff or weak through today's more sedentary lifestyles. She focuses on helping students get back in touch with feeling and sensing their bodies rather than the more cerebral practices of thinking and analyzing.
Since electing an early retirement in 2003 from 32 years as a Public Financial Policy Analyst, Lucy has been applying her analytical skills to the anatomy and physiology of observing, understanding, and teaching yoga asana (poses) and meditation. She focuses on teaching the therapeutic elements of alignment-based yoga and trauma-sensitive yoga practices. Lucy is a Certified Warriors at Ease teacher and Program Manager of the Ft. Meade Resiliency Yoga Program, Certified iRest® Yoga Nidra Meditation teacher, and Cancer Exercise Training Institute, Prison Yoga Project, and Y4A Yoga For Amputees trained teacher.
