Shades of Yoga is an International Yoga Teacher Training school offering Level 1 (200 hour) RYT 200 and Level 2 (300 hour) RYT 300 Yoga Teacher Training courses accredited with Yoga Alliance International.

Our courses are held at beautiful locations around the world - Bali Ubud is where we have been running courses since 2010 - we have since expanded to Europe - Australia and Morocco

Shades of Yoga teacher training takes yoga beyond the mat, exploring all aspects of living a life of balance and harmony.Guest teachers are often invited to share their wisdom with our students to further enhance their learning experience. WE never take more then 16 students per training as we believe that the courses should be kept small for optimal learning

Fantastic place to do a yoga teacher training Full Review

By Joe Bowden RYT® 200

Nov 29, 2022

I attended Shades of Yoga 200 hour yoga teacher training in Bali 31-October 2022 through 23-November 2022. About half was physical, mostly asanas, some pranayama and meditation. The other half was mostly classroom and homework, discussion of yoga history, philosophy, ethics, anatomy, business. A bit of Ayurveda introduction towards the end. Curriculum was not well defined, we typically didn't know what we would be doing in the next few days, sometimes the next few hours, and even then it shifted often. The schedule was likewise flexible, for example going overtime on one subject at the expense of another later. Main instructor was Janine. She was very knowledgeable, capable, caring, practical, punctual, and a great communicator. Other instructor was Tracey, who mostly did asana workshops and philosophy lectures. Tracey was bouncy, generally exuded high energy and strong opinions. Assistant / observing teacher was Mary, who mostly offered asana adjustments during practice, she was kind and quiet. The asana practice was very good. We learned a limited set of asanas in detail, rather than a larger set more generally. We learned a lot about cueing, observation and verbal / physical adjustments. The philosophy lectures mostly based on Patanjali Ashtanga, but expanded into world politics and current events. Sometimes opening into discussion with student participation, and occasional spontaneous workshop activities. We covered basic anatomy lightly, I would have preferred more content and detail. The students were all fantastic! Eight ladies and four men. Some multilingual, English was a slight challenge for two. Wide age range, 23 to 66. Wide geographical distribution, from all over the world. I consider we all liked each other a lot, felt like family towards the end. Overall this course was intense and effective, good for people that are okay with fluid content rather than rigorous fixed content. I consider I learned a lot and graduated as an effective quality yoga teacher. Full Review
