Shades of Yoga is an International Yoga Teacher Training school offering Level 1 (200 hour) RYT 200 and Level 2 (300 hour) RYT 300 Yoga Teacher Training courses accredited with Yoga Alliance International.

Our courses are held at beautiful locations around the world - Bali Ubud is where we have been running courses since 2010 - we have since expanded to Europe - Australia and Morocco

Shades of Yoga teacher training takes yoga beyond the mat, exploring all aspects of living a life of balance and harmony.Guest teachers are often invited to share their wisdom with our students to further enhance their learning experience. WE never take more then 16 students per training as we believe that the courses should be kept small for optimal learning

As part of the Yoga Alliance Social Credentialing system, teachers that register with Yoga Alliance must submit a review of the RYS training program they completed.

Feedback from trainees provides Registered Yoga Schools with the opportunity to understand their trainees’ experiences in order to continually improve their trainings.

By choosing to display comments, schools enable trainees to provide insight into a school’s culture and training which helps potential trainees choose the right teacher training for their individual path with yoga.

I recently completed the Yoga Teacher Certification class with Shades of Yoga, and it was an outstanding experience. The small class sizes provided extensive one-on-one training, enhancing my learning and allowing personalized feedback from the instructors. This intimate setting also fostered close relationships with fellow students, resulting in lasting friendships. The location was perfect—safe, beautiful, and peaceful, situated in the middle of a serene rice field yet conveniently in the heart of downtown Ubud. This made it easy to explore the town while enjoying a tranquil learning environment. The food provided was excellent, offering delicious and nutritious meals that kept us energized for our training sessions. Overall, my experience with Shades of Yoga was transformative. The combination of personalized instruction, a supportive community, an idyllic location, and excellent food made it the perfect choice for my yoga teacher certification. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to deepen their yoga practice and become a certified yoga teacher.

I just finished my Shades of Yoga YTT 200 and it was a really educational, memorable and unique experience. My yoga teacher, Helen, is very knowledgable and she is always so present whenever I need help and guidance. She is also so caring and loving to make sure every student has received sufficient support throughout the course. The program has a strong focus on yoga philosophy and posture alignments. This course does not include a lot of advance asanas, rather it focuses on the foundational postures. However, I especially love the posture clinic on the first two weeks because it explains each foundational pose so clearly and systematically. It helps me to understand my body more and how to practice yoga safely in the long term. In this course I had plenty of time for yoga philosophy discussions, asana and pranayama practice, which allows me to fully understand the basics of teaching yoga and how to become a responsible teacher in the future. Last but not least, this course is a great opportunity for me to meet beautiful souls from all over the world who come for the same reason - the passion about yoga. We had so much fun after class to hang out and explore Ubud together.

It's quite an impressive experience with Shades of Yoga, I missed the breakfase, yoga shala, beautiful terrace and bamboo house in the resort. We learnt very authentic Hatha Yoga here and glad to know that we graduated as if taking the mantle from BKS Iyengar somehow. Especially, I love the yoga philosophy part, which is beyond expectation, although it could be much better if we could have more time to practice asana. Overall the content is super good and we have substantial take-away, although it can be better if there can be some adjustment to the 3-weeks schedule, to make it more balance, sometimes it was too relax while sometimes it was too tight.
