Arhanta Yoga is an international Yoga institute which started to give internationally accredited professional yoga teacher training courses in 2009. We are a registered Yoga school (RYS) with Yoga Alliance and International Yoga Federation. We believe in the ancient principles and strength of Classical Yoga and our mission is to share our knowledge and passion for Yoga and authentic Vedic philosophy. With our traditional yoga ashrams in India and in the Netherland and affiliated centers worldwide we spread the authentic teachings of Classical Yoga with altering them. Our goal is to guide people into practice of Yam and Niyams as a way of the life. We want to help people to increase their spiritual awareness and want to encourage all our students to spread their knowledge of Yoga and their understanding of love, compassion and peace.

I personally found Arhanta Yoga Ashram TTC in India a lifechanging experience and I am happy I did it. The quality of the teachers and teaching methods are astonishing and I am happy with my choice although the life conditions at the ashram are quiet challenging on top of the program itself which has an intense schedule. I don't feel that I am the best person to rate Arhanta Yoga Ashrams teacher training program right now since I did my 200 YTT more than 10 years ago with them, I was part of their second promotion for this training and hopefully this training might have improved quite a lot since that time. But yet, from my experience 10 years ago, I cannot recommend this training to anyone. It was not at all an inclusive training. At least 5 students hurt themselves during the course of the training and competition between students was very much encouraged by the main teacher of this training. The way I was taught yoga was not aligned with the philosophy of yoga (non-harming, self-study ect.) but much more with a gymnastic performance where we were forced to practice headstand everyday and to be able to perform it at the end to be considered like a "worthy" student. So, according to me, the 8 limbs of yoga were not at all embodied in the person of the main teacher of this training. He was shaming students who were not flexible a lot in front of the whole group during this training. Also we were taught to learn by heart a sequence of yoga, not to understand why it made sense anatomically and energetically. So, yes, at the end of the training we were able to repeat this sequence, but I wasn't feeling like I was a great yoga teacher because this sequence never made sense in my body and, at the end of this training, I didn't had the knowledge to change it appropriately to create a more suitable sequence for myself: which was one of the reason why I took this training in the first place. And this is also the reason why right now, I am doing a second 200 h with another school of yoga, to become a yoga teacher . Once more, I hope that this training is far better now than it was when I did it, and I also hope that my feedback will help this school improve and be more respectful to each students and more inclusive.
