Reviews

As part of the Yoga Alliance Social Credentialing system, teachers that register with Yoga Alliance must submit a review of the RYS training program they completed.

Feedback from trainees provides Registered Yoga Schools with the opportunity to understand their trainees’ experiences in order to continually improve their trainings.

By choosing to display comments, schools enable trainees to provide insight into a school’s culture and training which helps potential trainees choose the right teacher training for their individual path with yoga.

I Loved the online self learning format with the live zoom calls. Best of being able to do the work on my own time, and yet checking in with the teachers live. I always got my emails with questions answered the same day. The teachers on the zoom call were also available afterwards via email. I enjoyed the yoga philosophy sessions, I anticipated the attention on the postures, but the deep dive into the philosophy was a huge bonus. I have already recommended this program to my friends and coworkers interested in yoga teacher training.

I enrolled in YogaRenew because it promised to make learning yoga accessible, and it truly delivered on that promise. The flexibility to learn at my own pace and in a way that suited my learning style was a key factor in my decision to join. The content provided is extensive and well-rounded, and I found myself learning things that many of my peers in other programs hadn't encountered. This comprehensive approach has left me feeling well-prepared as a teacher. However, there was a significant issue that I believe warrants attention. While YogaRenew did communicate about a course update, they did not inform us that this update would force students to follow a specific order in the curriculum. This change was frustrating for many, including myself, as we had signed up for the program specifically because of its flexible, self-paced structure. The lack of prior communication about this major change led to widespread dissatisfaction. On a positive note, I had the chance to speak with the curriculum director and felt assured that they were actively working to resolve the issues. Despite their efforts, communication from the school often consisted of copy-pasted messages that didn't directly address specific questions. I personally experienced this and had to repeatedly clarify my inquiries to get the answers I needed. Overall, I highly recommend YogaRenew for its excellent content and flexible learning structure. However, there's definite room for improvement in their communication practices. Clear, personalized responses would go a long way in enhancing the overall experience for students. Additionally, make sure you inform your students of every change that is happening. Don't just say the course is updating with great new content and leave out a huge piece.

The curriculum was a great mix of historic yoga traditions with modern pedagogies. The modules are easy to navigate with a wealth of learning for the understanding of yoga philosophy, anatomy, and the art of teaching.

This program is easy to navigate and to understand. There are only 2 drawbacks to this program. First, there is no way to call Yoga Renew and directly speak to someone. All conversations are done via chat. Second, any progress you make on the program is not guaranteed to be shown as completed even after its completion. It made it confusing, because I initially thought I had to return to modules I had already completed and redo them. Only after I contacted chat was I told that the only things that mattered when it came to show of completion was the tests.
