Relaxing starts from fully exhaling

Do you remember the last time you’ve completely exhaled? Deep breath is the foundation of yoga, and it’s the basic action that leads to focusing in yourself. This rhythm of breathing balances your autonomic nerves, and over time, it will strengthen the bone structure and muscle movements of your entire body. What’s quite unknown is that what leads to deep breathing is not in inhaling but actually in completely exhaling, breathing out all the air from your lungs. When life is busy we often become nervous or anxious, and without realizing, many of us tend to hold our breath or repeat short breaths without being able to fully exhale.

The beauty of your body begins from a fulfilled mind, and to relaxing your mind starts from breathing. At Yuka New York Yoga, we open by focusing on breathing, and learn how to focus in yourself. Through breathing and unforced poses we train to build balanced and toned muscles throughout your body. If you’re living a busy life in the busy big city, please come join us at Yuka New York Yoga. In a small class setting we’ll attentively teach you authentic yoga from New York from the very basic. We really look forward to practicing yoga with you.

Yuka Shinohara
Moved to New York in 2006. While teaching dancing, Yuka started to practice yoga to make time for herself and both spiritually and physically fell in love with it. In 2011 she completed the 200 hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training from the US Yoga Alliance.

Yuka learned classical ballet and classical Japanese dancing (NIHON BUYO) , then later extended her performance arts to vocal training, theater, tap dance and jazz dance. In 2000 she was accredited the name of FUJIMA TAKASHINO in classical Japanese dancing. Yuka has created the choreography and performed as the dancer of ReebockJapan collection, TokyoDisneyLand commercial, Mariah Carry Japan Tour after party, and for artists like The Southern All Stars, SMAP, and MINMI. During her 6 years in New York, she has performed classical Japanese dances at the Japanese Consulate guest banquets to promote Japanese culture while teaching HIPHOP dancing in New York City. Yuka has been teaching for 20 years.

Reviews

As part of the Yoga Alliance Social Credentialing system, teachers that register with Yoga Alliance must submit a review of the RYS training program they completed.

Feedback from trainees provides Registered Yoga Schools with the opportunity to understand their trainees’ experiences in order to continually improve their trainings.

By choosing to display comments, schools enable trainees to provide insight into a school’s culture and training which helps potential trainees choose the right teacher training for their individual path with yoga.
