The Yoga Academy of North America (YANA) is one of three academies worldwide authorized to offer the Yogic Studies and Teacher Training courses in SATYANANDA YOGA®.

Satyananda Yoga was developed by Paramahamsa Satyananda Saraswati who founded the Bihar School of Yoga in 1964. Grounded in ancient traditions, this system of yoga is adapted to meet the needs of modern society. Satyananda Yoga integrates the whole person with an emphasis on awareness, bringing about change on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels. Practitioners are encouraged to embrace a balanced approach to asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathing), meditation, and development of a yogic lifestyle. Satyananda Yoga is suitable for people of all ages and physical abilities.

Satyananda Yoga is often referred to as Yoga of the Head, Heart and Hands. Through the integration of knowledge, emotions and service, we can reach our full potential.

Along with the Yogic Studies and Teacher Training programs, YANA currently offers continuing education programs in Satyananda Yoga Nidra® - Levels 1 & 2, Pranayama & Meditation, and the Bhagavad Gita as well as other specialty workshops. Please visit yogaacademyna.org for more information. YANA is a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization.

Reviews

As part of the Yoga Alliance Social Credentialing system, teachers that register with Yoga Alliance must submit a review of the RYS training program they completed.

Feedback from trainees provides Registered Yoga Schools with the opportunity to understand their trainees’ experiences in order to continually improve their trainings.

By choosing to display comments, schools enable trainees to provide insight into a school’s culture and training which helps potential trainees choose the right teacher training for their individual path with yoga.
