Integrating time-honored yoga teachings with contemporary perspectives, our program encourages students to recognize the enduring relevance of fundamental existential inquiries. As we journey through life, questions such as "Why am I here?", "Where did I come from?", "What am I meant to do?", and "How is my body responding?" remain crucial for introspection.

Our aim is not to deliver definitive answers, but to present a philosophical framework that encourages exploration of the self, the body, the world, and the nature of experience. Be prepared to challenge your understanding of yoga and engage in respectful dialogues with fellow students about its teachings.
Within our dynamic learning environment, you become not only a student but also an active participant in the teachings. Embrace daily self-discovery and trust your evolving perspective as a valued part of our school's ethos.

We provide both a Spring and Fall 14-week program, with morning and weekend sessions, and a summer 5-week intensive. Our small-group approach ensures a hands-on curriculum, fostering valuable teaching experience and personalized mentorship.

Our comprehensive program covers a wide range of topics, such as:

Vinyasa (flow) certification
Sound healing
Yoga history
Chanting and mantra
Pranayama techniques (breathing)
Meditation practices
Yoga lifestyle
Personal development
Ayurvedic principles
Anatomy and physiology
Trauma-informed teachings
Trans inclusivity
Cultural awareness in yoga
Our experienced faculty includes:

Katyanna Ryan: History, Meditation Techniques, and Philosophy, Āsana Practice, Teaching Methodology, and Practicum Overview

Sarada Pranav: Ayurveda, Teaching Assistance, Philsophy, Sanskrit

Carley de Goede ERYT 500: Assists, Trauma Informed Languaging

Carrie Watkins ND E-RYT 500: Anatomy and Physiology (Naturopathic Doctor and Yoga Teacher)

Pilar Munoz: Sound Healing Basics

Adele Worobey (RCC): Trauma-Informed Teaching

A key aspect of our training is teaching yoga with trauma sensitivity, offering insights into the physiological and psychological effects of trauma and their possible manifestations in the classroom. This understanding equips teachers with basic techniques to work with marginalized populations and students recovering from physical or emotional trauma, grief, or loss.

Our program is an ideal starting point for aspiring yoga teachers who seek to engage in outreach activities or work with individuals in specialized settings.

Graduates of our program can join us as interns and present specific research projects and provide additional support to students

The 200 hour YTT program at MA is comprehensive and incredibly well-rounded. I felt like I was able to experience touchstones of a number of elements within the world of yoga, alongside have the spaciousness to dive into my own practice.

I loved every minute of learning from Katyanna, the teaching assistants, and the other instructors, and I thoroughly enjoyed connecting with my peers on this life-altering journey. I learned so much more about the yogic teachings and philosophy - ethics, metaphysics, psychology, and spirituality - and Ayurvedic practice. Standouts for me include Katyanna’s presence and generous nature, the chanting, sound baths, sequencing activities, the opportunity to teach, and the lovely, lovely space. My confidence increased, as did my stamina, my curiosity, and my desire to share these teachings and practices with others who are, for whatever reasons, unable to participate in a program such as this. With much love and gratitude to you Katyanna ~ Celina, Ontario

I am very grateful to have been a part of the 200 hour YTT program at MĀ Yoga and Wellness it was a challenging, encouraging, and empowering experience. I have left different than I arrived and there is something so holy about that. My teachers were many and knowledgeable, it was fascinating to get so many different perspectives and seeds of wisdom along the way. I went into this training with the intention to share my love of yoga and to extend my practice out into the world. I learned to bow as a student and embrace my inner teacher.

MA fit as much wonderfulness as possible into their intensive 200 HR program, and taught it so well that it left me immediately wanting more. I valued their dedication to the ancient teachings and rich history that yoga possesses; going into my training, I wanted to know more than a surface level understanding of where yoga comes from and what it hopes to do and I received everything I hoped. I learned a teaching style that I will be proud and confident to teach. One that honours individual bodies and minds, traditional Sanskrit, breathing, and meditation. The two studios at MA felt like second and third homes. The atmosphere with sound, lighting, mat setup, props, humans, tea, clinic, and knowledge creates the most inspiring and comforting space to spend all your time. I never wanted to leave. It changed me as a person and I'm trying my best not to be sad that I'm not still in it, though they do have numerous workshops to continue your learning journey and enjoy community that I'm excited to take. Filled with the most knowledgeable staff, MA gives you an incredibly comprehensive, illuminating, and enlightening education.

The YTT200 I attended was more comprehensive than I expected and the calibre of instruction also exceeded my expectations. I look forward to continuing to grow and learn from this committed and knowledgeable group of teachers.
