Waynesville Yoga Center is a dynamic, inclusive, community-based RYS, offering a 200 and 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training program - we have recently migrated both YTT programs to a hybrid form, offering online and in person instruction. We also host Yoga Alliance CE courses for those wishing to build their 300 or 500 hour certifications.

This is in addition to a variety of weekly and pop-up classes; workshops + events; a sweet boutique stocking our in-house line of apothecary goodies, and much more - all housed in a beautiful 1902 historic building. Visit waynesvilleyogacenter.com for details.

Our mission is to offer Real Yoga for Real Bodies > and our signature style is Flow + Ground, a beautiful fusion of both movement and stillness, strength and stretch.

Nestled at the foot of the inspiring Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, about 40 minutes west of Asheville, WYC is honored + excited to both share yoga with our community - and to support its growth and evolution! Join us for all of your yoga needs and wellness goals.

Reviews

As part of the Yoga Alliance Social Credentialing system, teachers that register with Yoga Alliance must submit a review of the RYS training program they completed.

Feedback from trainees provides Registered Yoga Schools with the opportunity to understand their trainees’ experiences in order to continually improve their trainings.

By choosing to display comments, schools enable trainees to provide insight into a school’s culture and training which helps potential trainees choose the right teacher training for their individual path with yoga.

An amazing experience with a small cohort of people! Love how trauma informed the program is and how the teachers encourage you to find your own path to what you want and how you want to teach.

I overall enjoyed this program. It was accessible for my schedule around my family & work. Being you are in class one weekend a month as opposed to other programs that are a full time commitment for a shorter period of time made it all possible to obtain my certification. I feel the curriculum could use some work as far as how it is broken up, but overall I learned a tremendous amount and left the program with confident ability in teaching yoga.

I'm so glad I chose Waynesville Yoga Center for my 200 certification. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable about everything from yoga philosophy to practical guidance on cueing. The biggest differentiator is the extensive time each student spends actually teaching, which is far and above other programs. I got such valuable feedback on my unique teaching style and learned how to tailor it to my strengths. The focus at this school is not how the pose looks, but at the way each student can express it effectively within their own abilities.

WYC YTT is an intense, deep-dive into all aspects of yoga with an emphasis on teaching—you student teach the first night. The instructors pull out the best in you and the bond you form with your classmates is beyond special. It’s a trauma-based program that gives you insight into how the body holds on to trauma and how we can deal with it within ourselves and with our students. They worked with me and encouraged me, as I had unplanned shoulder surgery halfway through the program.

Waynesville Yoga Center is one of my favorite places to practice yoga. The teachers are amazing, as are the class offerings, space, and general atmosphere, which is welcoming, kind, and supportive. The teachers who instruct the YTT are talented and knowledgeable. However, I found the curriculum to be somewhat disorganized in content and cadence. Aside from that, I felt that the training was of great value and a wonderful experience and investment of my time and money and would do it again in an instant.
