Kara Douglas has been practicing yoga since 1998 and teaching since 2001. Trained primarily in the Pranakriya and Kripalu Yoga lineages, with further background in other yoga methodology, she guides students through the many layers of encounter and integration that practice can reveal. Yoga and meditation practices can increase our sensitivity to subtle layers of our own experience, while at the same time, strengthening our resilience and ability to remain present and connected within ourselves, to each other and with the world we encounter. This confluence of vulnerability and resilience creates a rich, growth-oriented ecosystem, which Kara aims to navigate in her work with students. Kara is the owner and primary teacher at Fishmoon Yoga in Harpswell, Maine. She also enjoys co-leading retreats in Puerto Morelos, Mexico and guiding classes for residents in a dementia care facility, cancer patients, athletes and students with a variety of developmental abilities, including Down’s Syndrome.
