QiGong will enrich yoga. I find the poses a nice way to warm up the body before working the muscles in yoga. QiGong is also a nice transition from a flow series in a standing form to floor yoga. QiGong helps the mind to enter a meditatative state to cool down the mind and body after challenging it. It also allows diversity in a classroom when trying to help thise recovering from injuries as you can make a standing class with yoga and QiGong to alleviate the discomfort of getting up and down.

About Brenda Lyons

I have been living in the interconnected worlds of Qigong and Yoga for the last 30 years.  I am a RYT-500 and C-IYT, as well as a certified Qigong teacher and member of the National Qigong Association.

I have not only studied with well-known American Qigong teachers, Lee Holden, Roger Jahnke, and Marisa Cranfill but also with several masters in both Taiwan and China.

Prior to moving to Panama, I taught Qigong classes to the expatriate population in Shanghai and have taught Tai Chi and Qigong at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies in Rhinebeck, New York, and in Malaysia, Ethiopia, Aruba and Venezuela.  I presently offer classes, workshops and retreats in Central America and the Caribbean.
