I started teaching yoga in 2005 with a basic certification, but quickly realized that I had barely scratched the surface of this deep tradition. In 2007 I completed my 200 hour YA training with Laurie Greene in Smithville NJ. I also Graduated from Stockton University with my BA in Psychology and went on to complete my M.S. in Occupational Therapy. The holistic nature of my profession feeds my knowledge as a yoga teacher and lead me to become a certified with IAYT.
In 2019 I completed my first book "Yoga Th At The Wall" combining what I have learned over the past 15 years in yoga and 10 years in healthcare. An ordinary flat wall is an amazing prop that can help students to adapt poses to meet their own specific needs!
My teaching style focuses on a specific theme or part of the body- which is why I call it "The Yoga Focus Method"...and who couldn't use a little more focus?
I have a youtube channel: LauraGyoga, a podcast: "Yoga Focus" and I regularly post on my instagram page: LauraGyoga.
When I am not working or teaching I LOVE the outdoors, camping, hiking and traveling in my 2012 Scamp travel Trailer. I currently live in a 192 sq. foot tiny house on wheels with my partner, Patrick, and our rescue dog, Redford, and I love driving my little electric car: the Leaf!
