An Established Global Leader in Yoga Teacher Training Since 1999

Education & Training in Classical Yoga

Centered Yoga is one of the longest running and most prominent leaders in the field of yoga education and yoga teacher training worldwide at 200, 300, and 1100 hour levels and more.

Centered Yoga, where the depth of practice and tradition meets modern understanding and scientific knowledge with a good dose of fun, music, chanting, caring & sharing, save the planet, looking within, enjoy a life while thinking of others, open the heart, sharpen the mind, free the spirit

Since its founding in 1999, Centered Yoga has offered courses across all interest levels:

  • for professional yoga teachers
  • those aspiring to become teachers, and
  • sincere students seeking to delve deeper into their practice and understanding of the contemplative yoga path.

Our teaching team has studied and practiced to the highest level worldwide, from both years in India in practice to US-based academic research and scholarly work at the doctoral level. We continue to study, practice and learn so we can offer the best in teaching to you.

Our yoga teacher training program, An Education in Yoga: Foundation Course, is considered one of the mostcomprehensive in the world. It is also of the highest standard, with a broad scope that encompasses

asana, vinyasa, breath regulation, pranayama, yoga philosophy and psychology, anatomy and physiology, meditation, chanting, and spiritual practices.

Authenticity and integrity are our hallmarks, as we firmly believe that a deep understanding of not only the correct practice, but also its purpose, is essential to produce an effect that is both true and guided in the right direction. We make sure we do not take ourselves so seriously and emphasize fun in both learning and practicing as the ability to enjoy what you are doing is essential to the overall learning and growth.

Centered Yoga’s Foundation Course (200 hour level) actually clocks in at 300 hours of training in methods and teaching from classical Raja and Hatha Yoga, across modern vinyasa and asana, to traditional pranayama and meditation, with cutting edge science and research to guide the way forward:

  • Dynamic Core Vinyasa Asana practice and teaching
  • Restorative Asana practice and teaching
  • How to Breathe and Breath Regulation
  • Cleansing Kriyas
  • Classical Pranayama practice
  • Meditation Practice and Techniques
  • Yoga Philosophy and Psychology
  • Anatomy and Physiology – up to date science and research on the body and its systems and movement forms within the yoga practice.
  • Chanting and Mantra
  • How to Teach
  • Yoga in Daily Life
  • Full Residential Experience
  • Strength and Fitness – functional fitness core strength work coupled with indoor cycling cardio workouts on the world’s best Schwinn bikes serve to complement and augment your training as part of our YogaCoreCycle programming.

Upon successful completion of this training course you will be equipped with:

  • The ability to teach a dynamic, vinyasa style asana class
  • The ability to teach a gentle, restorative style asana class
  • Basic understanding and direction to sequence your own classes
  • Your own personalized asana practice
  • Your own personalized seated practice (based in breathing awareness, classical pranayama, and mantra meditation techniques)
  • A greater context for, and understanding of, Yoga in its entirety, beyond the physical approach to asana, so caring & sharing and love of this planet can be interpreted to others.

Centered Yoga holds our one-month residential yoga teacher training program at Samahita Retreat, a leading destination for yoga retreats and holidays in Koh Samui, Thailand, along with a number of advanced yoga training courses to advance the student and teacher.

Paul Dallaghan, Centered Yoga’s founder and lead teacher, has spent over 20 years one-on-one with noted yogi Sri O.P. Tiwari, master of pranayama and head of the oldest yoga institute, Kaivalyadham. He also reached the most advanced asana level with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, the late master of ashtanga vinyasa yoga. Both of these great teachers personally certified Paul in these practices, a unique position as the only one to receive this double honor. Paul is also completing a full-time PhD from Emory University, USA, applying the yoga practices to scientific research.
