Our training focuses very heavily on the anatomical structure of postures, safe verbal and hands-on adjustments, safe and effective sequencing of classes, and a lot of practice teaching, as well as yoga philosophy and the ethical and business considerations of teaching yoga.   We feature small group classes of 12 or fewer students with 2 senior instructors present.

Our curriculum is based primarily on the teachings of Sri T. Krishnamacharya, as passed on by Pattabhi Jois (from whom we derive movement linked with breath, aka Vinyasa Flow) and BKS Iyengar (safe muscular and joint alignment), as well as the Functional Anatomical teachings of Paul Grilley and Leslie Kaminoff.

Reviews

As part of the Yoga Alliance Social Credentialing system, teachers that register with Yoga Alliance must submit a review of the RYS training program they completed.

Feedback from trainees provides Registered Yoga Schools with the opportunity to understand their trainees’ experiences in order to continually improve their trainings.

By choosing to display comments, schools enable trainees to provide insight into a school’s culture and training which helps potential trainees choose the right teacher training for their individual path with yoga.

Extremely thorough training, especially in regards to anatomy and safety. They took their time to help students really learn and understand the material rather than having them quickly memorize and repeat. They care about training competent, compassionate teachers and it shows.

Doing my teacher training through Just Yoga was an excellent experience. They have a very rigorous and thorough program that more than exceeded my expectations. The program includes quite a bit of anatomy and biomechanics, in-depth dive into asana alignment and smart sequencing, and a wonderful study of the history of yoga and yoga philosophy. We had the added stress of going through our training during Covid lockdown. Our instructors went to great lengths to continue our program and give us the best experience possible.

The teacher training program at Just Yoga went above and beyond my expectations. I felt that the teachers really cared about developing strong and ethical teachers. They were respectful and always willing to go out of their way to provide guidance. I am so happy that I chose to do my training with Just Yoga because I now feel extremely equipped to teach a class. The training experience is something that has brought so much joy to my life the past year, and an experience I will always cherish. I would definitely recommend this program to a friend.

This training was extremely comprehensive! Just Yoga instructors were thrown a curve ball half-way through the course. There were lots of Zoom meetings and phone calls to make sure we had the best online second half we could have! Thank you so much, Just Yoga!!

The JY teacher training is extremely challenging however you will be prepared for just about anything when you complete this program. They do a great job of covering everything, anatomy, Sanskrit, pranayama, Indian philosophy, modifications, injuries, pregnancy and so much more. This is not a retreat, you will learn how to teach, day one. Previously, I looked at other schools but this curriculum just seem to be the most thorough. I'm glad I made the decision to go with JY, I feel confident I got the best training out there.

This is an outstanding curriculum. I felt completely prepared to teach when I finished the Just Yoga teacher training program. Lisa and Damien were not only knowledgeable and ethical but made themselves available out side of training to answer any questions or concerns. I would highly recommend this YTT to anyone who is serious about becoming a yoga teacher.

I could not be more pleased with this yoga teacher training program. I truly believe that both head instructors put a lot of time and effort into ensuring that we will become both competent and confident in our knowledge of teaching yoga. Their teachings were comprehensive and detailed, preparing the trainees to teach yoga safely and well. Lisa and Damien are just overall awesome humans too!
