Reviews

As part of the Yoga Alliance Social Credentialing system, teachers that register with Yoga Alliance must submit a review of the RYS training program they completed.

Feedback from trainees provides Registered Yoga Schools with the opportunity to understand their trainees’ experiences in order to continually improve their trainings.

By choosing to display comments, schools enable trainees to provide insight into a school’s culture and training which helps potential trainees choose the right teacher training for their individual path with yoga.

Pranalaya Yoga has become my home for my yoga practice up north in Baguio City. Besides the community and being in one of the most beautiful yoga studios in the country, Pranalaya Yoga has consistently exceeded beyond expectations when it comes to the Teacher Training Course for Vinyasa, as it has covered the necessary courses and even more. Our batch (year 2020) was a good mix of characters and backgrounds that made the experience more memorable. That is why I am proud to be under Gelie dela Pena's lineage.

I have been meditating for some years and didn’t expect to add more to my spiritual journey. Joining the Pranalaya training was by accident, but then again there is no such thing as coincidence. I joined the training with so many preconceived notions, so many conceptual thoughts about yoga and only to find out that I knew nothing at all about the mind-body and spirit. I realized how disconnected I was with my body and the training helped me reconnect. But it was not just a physical reconnection but I learned and realized that it was indeed a spiritual process of conscious awareness of the breath focused by and through movement-that is yoga. The training was like a retreat, more like that saying “emptying of a vessel” and refilling it through the methods of teaching and study. At first, the readings were conceptually easy to understand but quite difficult to process when combined with the techniques of learning the safest way to do yoga poses. It was also difficult to understand where to interject compassion and kindness in teaching yoga. The training encouraged me to uncover more “truths” through self-study and urged me to practice more. Until finally, without realizing it, the spirit within me, the language of my soul –surprisingly, simply emerged from within and got translated through practice teaching or immersion.. I found my voice… I discovered kindness and compassion when I was cuing my students. I do still have my ego, now more manageable. From the training, I am one among spiritual beings in this world, trying very hard to cultivate inner peace by consciously focusing on my breath and my heart. NAMASTE! Full Review
