Yoga Alliance Vice President of Standards Dr. Christa Schwind shares how she will use her academic and professional background to uplift the voices of a wide spectrum of teachers from diverse backgrounds and help elevate and evolve teaching standards.

Christa Schwind, Ph.D., Yoga Alliance Vice President of Standards, works with a team that is responsible for evaluating, setting, maintaining, and evolving yoga teacher standards, as well as helping ensure member compliance to standards, Code of Conduct, and Scope of Practice. Dr. Schwind serves on the steering committee for the Yoga Theory and Practice Group at the American Academy of Religion, and has most recently been a Professor of Yoga, Comparative Religions, Ethics and Wellness at the University of Denver and the University of Colorado. Christa is a yoga teacher, teacher trainer, student, and scholar. She received her Ph.D. in 2015 and has been practicing asana for over 15 years. She is a nationally recognized educator who is frequently asked to speak and teach at workshops and events around the United States.
