Big Win for Missouri Yogis! Senate Passes HB 1681!
May 5, 2016
We are pleased to share breaking news about Missouri House Bill 1681 – the Missouri Senate passed this legislation unanimously by a vote of 30-0 last night! This follows the passage of this important legislation by the Missouri House of Representatives by a vote of 146-7 on February 11. Now that this bill, championed by Yoga Alliance, has been approved by both chambers of the Missouri General Assembly, it will head to the governor’s desk for his signature!
Now is a great time to show your appreciation for the hard work of your legislators who joined our effort to protect YTTs throughout the state by sending a “thank you” email to those who made this possible:
We also want to extend a big thank you to all of the Missouri yogis who have been involved in supporting this bill by testifying in committee hearings and by writing your legislators. We believe this bill not only helps small businesses, but also the entire yoga community! We will let you know when we reach the finish line and the Governor signs the bill into law.
Yoga Alliance is proud to have led the Missouri yoga community on this critical effort. While we expect that YTTs in this state will soon be free from unnecessary regulation, other YTTs around the country are under pressure. Yoga Alliance needs your support so we can continue our advocacy work in other states facing the same challenges. Please pay it forward with a financial contribution to make sure that yoga is protected across the country.
We’re proud to work on your behalf to protect our yoga community.
