  • Yoga Shakti Studio, USA - 200 hours under of Diana Pipaloff and Nanda Bharati.
  • Zuna Yoga, Indonesia - 300 hours under of Rudra Newell and Katherine Girling.

Since discovering yoga in her early twenties, Mona Lisa Godfrey has been committed to bettering the world through the teaching of yoga. Her years of extensive training and participation in the yoga community have garnered recognition internationally, carrying her practice and teachings around the globe. Originally from the former USSR (Riga), Mona relocated to Stockholm, Sweden with her family at the age of five, and began learning English as her third language at an international school. In her , she and her family relocated once again, this time to Orange, California. The discomfort, juxtaposed with the simultaneous highs brought about from constant culture shock and flux, led Mona to , movement, music, and writing for refuge and self-expression.

It also brewed an unwavering hunger for different cultures, exploration, and travel. In 2013, Mona resigned from her position as regional studio director for The Yoga Mat OC locations in California, and with one rucksack, set out on a two-year adventure through South East Asia and Oceania. In result, Mona has launched and directed various studios and retreat in the US, Australia, and Indonesia. While in Australia, Mona serendipitously stumbled across Zuna and felt immediately compelled to further her studies with Everett Newell and Katherine Girling in Bali, Indonesia.

The initial deepening of Mona's practice began under the strict guidance of Diana Pipaloff and Nanda in Irvine, California. There, she also completed the extensive Yoga Shakti Wellness Center Post Graduate Mentorship Program with mentor Shanti Walling. It was this challenging and thorough mentorship program that inspired and gave her the confidence to start sharing yoga full time.

With an extensive background in Marketing, Graphics, Photography, and Performing Arts, Mona still finds to incorporate art and creativity in all her work. She is the co-founder of the London-based company Om River Limited and for the last 4 years has been a key instructor for the online yoga studio Yoga Today. Dedicated to living her yoga with heart, and to teaching with a commitment to the ancient traditions of yoga, Mona believes that with dedication and enthusiasm, the practice has the power to raise the vibration of the collective, starting from the inside, one awakened heart at a time.
