About Laura C Parshley

Laura is not only a registered yoga teacher but also a licensed massage practitioner(NY state LMT).  Always interested in biology and the body Laura began practicing yoga as a teenager; and deepened that practice as she studied massage therapy.

She went to the islands of Hawaii to begin the journey of learning about the body, movements and the modalities to help it thrive.  At the Maui School of Th********* Massage (MSTM), Laura learned from some of the best LMT's in the U.S., including the owner of the school, James Hackett. As well as many talented kinesiologists .  While in Hawaii, she also attended the Hawaiian Hea**** Academy (HHA), studying under Kumu ("teacher") Maka'ala Yates, a Dr of chiropractic's (DC).

Laura has continued to grow in her field.  She has traveled to Chiang Mai Thailand to study the ancient bodywork of Northern Style Thai Massage (or Yoga Massage), a perfect bridge between her dueting passions of massage and yoga.

In 2015-16, Laura went across Asia studying the body, body work, and movement thera*y. And in India, she completed her 200 Yoga Teacher training.

She has since continued to study body, bodywork and yoga, diving deep into structures like the pelvic and shoulder girdle. Learning effects of movement as well as body work on the systems of our body; completing her 500 hour YTT as well as teacher training in pre/postnatal yoga, trauma informed yoga, and aerial yoga.

As a yoga teacher, Laura has focused on one-on-one or small group customized classes/sessions. Utilizing her knowledge and experiences as a yoga teacher, practitioner and massage LMT to create a revitalizing and thriving practice for every student.

Laura has donated her time and knowledge as a massage LMT for over 10 years and continued supporting her own community, as well as others around the world, with yoga; in the form of donated classes/sessions, donation based classes to fund raises for charities and members of the community and free group classes.

Laura has purred her knowledge, from years of study and practice both in yoga and bodywork,  into comprehensive workshops, delving into they anatomy, physiology and kinesiology of the body to better understand the effects of yoga and how it can benefits ourselves and students.
