Once upon a time, I was a Copywriter; spending my days stretching deadlines in a London advertising agency with no windows. (Insert sad sigh here.) I wasn't very happy. So I thought about the things that made me happy and I thought about the things that didn't.
I realised that Yoga made me smile (and made the voices in my head a little quieter too), and so I decided to invest in my own self-practice. I found a 200hr Teacher Training course in London, and began learning how to teach myself at the weekends.
I really really didn't plan to teach anyone else. I really really didn't want to. The idea of standing in front of a room full of people made me want to run and hide. But...well, it turned out that teaching actually made me very happy indeed.
So, one Monday (after a very frustrating meeting), I quit the day job and ran away to India to do my 500hr YTT. I've never looked back.
Since then, I've been teaching a combination of Vinyasa, Power, Restorative and Yin classes in London, as well as teaching on 200 and 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training courses around the world. And now I'm the proud co-owner of a yoga studio, Ánimo Yoga, in East London.
