This class was awesome and I'm so glad I took it. I love kids and I think it's so important to start practicing what yoga teaches you early on in life. I wish I hadn't waited until I was 23 to begin practicing, and I can't wait to be part of the yoga practice for young yogis when I start to teach!

About Chelsea Karuna McQuaid

I am a yoga teacher, mindfulness mentor and Kidding Around Yoga trainer. Born in raised in Erie County, Pennsylvania, I'm raising her two children (and two cats) with their father in Lake City, Pennsylvania.

I bring the peaceful effect of yoga into students of all ages, whether they be four, or one hundred and four! I have been practicing for the last 10 years and was instantly taken with the body awareness and confidence that could be gained with the asanas and found the practices to be of aid when quitting smoking.

I knew very quickly that I wanted to share all that she was learning with whoever would listen to me!

There are as many types of yoga as there are practitioners. My intention is to guide my students through a practice that they can apply to their lives.

I trained at the Plasha Yoga Studio, completing the 200hr Integrative Yoga Teacher Training in Summer 2013. In the Fall of 2015, I began their 300hr Integrative Advanced Training, this program was completed in November 2016. In 2017, I completed a 30-hour Meditation Teacher Training program.

I've continued to grow my knowledge base with online trainings from Sadie Nardini, Gabrielle Bernstein and in-person workshops with Leslie Kaminoff and Haris Lender's Kidding Around Yoga (KAY).

I am now offering classes at multiple locations in the Greater Erie, PA-area, including private lessons in my students' homes. I'm proud to lead trainings for Kidding Around Yoga as well as facilitating Desire Map workshops based on the work of Daniele LaPorte.

I love that the eight limbs of yoga can be applied to ANY yogi’s life and I'm inspired by the progress I see in all of my students.

My spiritual name, Karuna, means “mercy” or “compassion.”
