I began taking yoga classes after a car accident left me with a back injury. Since then, I've realized that my yoga practice has given me so much more than relief from that pain. I have gained strength (inside and out), improved my flexibility, and have learned so much more about myself than I ever thought possible. Yoga has been an incredible gift in my life and I have a passion for sharing it!
In 2013, I began my studies. I traveled to attend Vinyasa yoga teacher training programs by Amazing Yoga, and an advanced intensive program with Sampoorna Yoga in India. I have additionaly education in anatomy, sequencing, and hands-on adjustments. I am able to teach a variety of styles of yoga and I am committed to making classes interesting and challenging, no matter what you're working on.
Teaching has become a passion of mine and I look forward to seeing you in class!
My Teaching Philosophy
People seek out yoga for a variety of reasons and it's not my place to judge those reasons. Whether you are looking for a strictly physical practice, pursuing the mental and emotional benefits of yoga, and everywhere in between, you have a place in my class. My teaching is not a reflection of my personal practice - it is for you, the practicioner. I love to engage in conversation and find out what brings people to their mat so I can better facilitate those goals. In terms of yoga asana, I offer options so that you can truly make your practice your own.
What I Teach
Flow-based yoga from beginner to advanced levels. We focus on moving with breath and building heat in the body.
I specialize in advanced pose consultation. This is for people who are trying to bring new poses into their practice but are unsure of how to do so safely.
Yoga HIIT (Yoga-Shred Inspired):
A combination of yoga and high-intensity interval training.
A class for moms-to-be. We focus on building strenth, increasing flexibility, breathing through challenges, and other concepts that are helpful in preparing for birth.
Postnatal/Parent and Baby Yoga:
A class for parents to move and engage with their little one. This class focuses on safe poses for a post-partum body but all care-givers are welcome.
A music and movement class for parents and kids aged 0-4.
Yoga for Kids:
A play-based class that incorporates yoga poses and concepts.
Ballet-style fitness that works out the whole body. I teach this in 2 formats: progressive sessions that start with simple moves and increases in intensity/complexity, and medium to high-intensity BlissBarre sequences that changes every 2 weeks. I am currently developing a program for prenatal/parent and baby barre.
A slower style of yoga where poses are held for longer periods of time. Minimal effort is used to hold those poses.
A slower style of yoga where no effort is used to hold poses.
I am a certified YACEP with the Yoga Alliance. I offer workshops for yoga teachers and other practitioners who would like to offer aspects of yoga to their clients.
