I practice and teach Ashtanga Yoga, which is a system of yoga where movements and postures, following a counted sequence, are linked with each breath in a way that fosters a deep self-awareness. The system builds strength and flexibility in both body and mind.
My approach to teaching Ashtanga Yoga follows the traditional ‘Mysore style’ and includes assisted self-practice, counted vinyasa, hands-on adjustments, focused technical work, meditation and rest. I see the role of the teacher as creating a space where everyone is supported and guided in discovering their own unique practice of yoga.
I started practicing yoga in 2000. My training includes completing the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga teacher training with John Scott, in the lineage of Sri K Pattabi Jois, and the ‘Relax and Renew®’ Restorative Yoga Level One teacher training with Judith Hanson Lasater. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance.
