Why do I teach yoga? Yoga has changed my life. It has created peace where there was anxiety, organization where there was chaos, love where there was fear. I feel stronger, and more flexible. The strength from my yoga practice gives me courage to deal with the tremendous challenges that I have faced: an abusive marriage of 25 years, a house fire in 1999, the loss of my beloved partner of 18 years to colon cancer in 2012, and my dear mother in 2015.
I enjoy sharing my yoga practice with others so that they may enjoy the transformations that I have known.
Teaching elementary school K-8 has been my chosen profession for 22 years. I also served as principal of two small schools, and as a special education/resource teacher. Growing up on a dairy farm gave me the tenacity to achieve my goals. Grain farming and raising 5 wonderful children proved to be another challenge. I have achieved my Bachelor of Teaching, Special Education 5th year, and Resource Certificate. I have my grade 8 piano from the Royal Conservatory of Toronto, have taught piano lessons, and enjoy dancing of all sorts. I also enjoy cooking, horticulture, photography, hiking, kayaking, cross country skiing, and canoeing. Yoga is my first love because it has increased my strength of mind and body tremendously.
