Vanessa, which means butterfly, fits my personality perfectly. I grew up in the high desert of West Texas, lived in San Diego in my twenties where I fell in love with surfing and traveling. Thanks to my father, a Kundalini Yoga teacher, I discovered yoga and instantly felt inner peace. When I started practicing yoga regularly in my twenties, I was free spirited and temperamental. I had travelled far and wide and spent much of that time looking for a sense of purpose in my life. The minute I discovered Yoga I knew that I had found that purpose.
I have enjoyed sharing Yoga for over 8 years. I am E-RYT 500 (Hatha/Vinyasa), KRI 300 (Kundalini), RPYT 85 (Pre-and Postnatal), YIN 100 (Yin Yoga) certified and as of December 2021 a certified Ayurveda Wellness Coach (Shakti School).
My teaching style is a reflection of me. I combine elements of classes and teachers I have
encountered during my travels within the US, Costa Rica, Bali, Peru, the UK, Portugal, Spain, and Berlin including Ayurveda, Kundalini, Yin, Pranayama and Vinyasa. My practice, although focusing on the correctness of postures (asanas), the breath (pranayama), movement (vinyasa) and lifestyle (Ayurveda) is also characterised by setting an intention and theme for each class I teach and always involves a grounding meditation and a bit of laughter. I am hands on, in the sense that I like to help people feel into their bodies.
Not a day goes by when I don´t hear the mat calling to me. I now channel that spirit into passing on my knowledge, my love for these powerful ancient teachings and passion for wellness on to others.
