Rod’s journey of self-discovery through yoga was initially sparked by the path of pranayama and meditation. The practice changed the direction of Rod’s life, and introduced him to a way of living that cultivated a sense of peace and stillness that he hadn’t experienced since his teenage years surfing on Sydney’s northern beaches.

Captivated and curious about the power of yoga to affect the body and mind, Rod devoted himself to the study of yoga, both in Australia and abroad.  His studies ignited a strong passion to share this profound knowledge with others. Rod’s greatest love lies in sharing the wonder and delight of meditation and the gateways to dive into it. He combines an intuitive mix of vinyasa yoga, pranayama and meditation techniques to offer a practice of conscious connection. Rod has a real gift for guiding people to surrender, and to let go of physical and mental tension, bringing them into a deeply meditative state.

In 2014 Rod and his partner Nicole Walsh founded InYoga, an urban yoga sanctuary in Surry Hills.  With a desire to expand awareness of yoga, share knowledge, and celebrate through yoga, music, and community, Rod is excited to be co-creating opportunities for yogis to connect and be inspired by one another. Rod and Nicole believe deeply in the benefits of Seva, or selfless service, establishing that all InYoga endeavours give generously to a chosen charity.

Rod’s teaching combines inspiration from his original training with The Art of Living Foundation and then further studies with Lorin Roche, Chanel Luck, Shivea Rea, Bryan Kest and his partner Nicole Walsh.

Rod loves seeing his students transform their lives through yoga and meditation, just as he did.
