A native of Maine and a lover of the “way life should be”, Imke made her way to yoga as a means of escape while living in the craziness that is Washington, D.C. As a full-time communication professional in a bustling metropolitan area, she often found herself lost in the grind of her daily nine-to-five. Looking to bring balance back into her life, she made her way into a local yoga studio where she fell in love with the practice.
Beyond a good sweat, yoga provided a safe space to explore intellectual and emotional edges that were often neglected. Since first stepping into Tranquil Space (her yoga hOMe away from home), her practice has expanded beyond the mat and has become a way of life.
Imke is a two-time University of Maine graduate, holding both a Bachelors and Master’s degree in Communication from the Department of Communication and Journalism. With over ten years of experience working as a communication professional, she has abandoned the nine-to-five world to work as a mom, traveling yoga teacher, public speaking instructor, and communication consultant.
