Patricia Jimenez, E-RYT has been practicing Yoga for over 35 years and began teaching yoga in 1985, starting at the University of South Florida, Tampa. Pat became certified as an RYT 200 hour in 2006 at the Lotus room in Tampa for Iyengar Yoga then took an additional 225-hour Vinyasa Flow training with Shiva Ray and Micheline Berry in 2011. Patty's classes combine wisdom from several yoga styles with an emphasis on finding embodied stillness through rhythmic breath, creative and smooth transitions between postures and the fluid pulse and meditative stillness within each Asana (posture) itself. Pat’s yoga studies include over 1000 hours of continuing education teacher training seminars including Iyengar, Praja, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Gentle and Restorative.
Patty taught Yoga and Cardio- dance classes at USF in the 80's for both the PE dept and continuing education. She owned a corporate wellness business for 10 years and was a national presenter at ACE conventions and a continuing education provider for certification renewals. Jimenez also was a national trainer for Bally Health clubs and Shapes Fitness in the 90s.
In addition, Patty's work integrates her deep understanding of the body through experience with variety of dance styles and college sports, dance performances, Pilates, Alexander technique, National fitness certifications and consistent well rounded athletic experience such as varsity swimming at Appalachian State University and UNC including current USTA tennis league.
Pat has a BS in Public Health (April 2019) with 157 credit hours due to changing majors and having several interests. Concentration classes included 7 Psychology classes, Kinesiology, Dance, Music, Exercise physiology, Nutrition, Athletic Training, and IT. Her final research paper was on Integrative/functional Medicine- Nutrition and Yoga modalities. She is currently working on completing a master's degree and becoming a certified wellness coach.
Full time, Pat is a Director of Business Development of Pharmalex, subdivision of Cencora covering the Southeastern US where she provides consulting on integrative product development, Clinical software services and much more to pharmaceutical companies and Biotech. Currently Patty only teaches a few hours a week but intends to open a studio with her daughter, Carla Jimenez in a few years.
