Maya Devi Georg (ERYT-500, RPYT,RCYT) began practicing yoga in 1999 and teaching full-time in 2004.
She was an adjunct professor of yoga for many years at the University of New Mexico. There she also founded and successfully ran her own school where she trained many new yoga teachers.
Prior to that, she taught children in New York City public schools, chair yoga to elders at Adas Israel Synagogue in Washington, DC, prenatal and children's yoga in studios, Hatha & Vinyasa yoga in studios and gyms, as well as working with professional athletes (MLB, NFL, MLS) and performers of Cirque du Soleil.
Lucky enough to have studied extensively with Dharma Mittra , Swami Bua, and Swami Jnanand, she was also an initiate of Yogi Gupta (Swami Kailashananda).
