Bernadette 'Maheshvari' Krampe is the founder of One Love Yoga Rishikesh (India) and Bielefeld (Germany).
Yoga has been a part of Maheshvari's life since high school, but it was her first Ashtanga class in 2003 which really led her to adopt yoga as an all-encompassing lifestyle. She instantly fell in love with the flow and dynamic yet focused energy of the traditional Ashtanga practice, and soon completed a 1-year intensive Ashtanga yoga teacher training in Halifax, Canada.
At the same time, she was embarking upon a B.A. in Health Studies, Sociology / Social Anthropology and International Development Studies with a Concentration in Asian Religion. She has been blessed to have received several research scholarships, enabling her to live in India and Nepal for extended periods of time, furthering her knowledge of the yogic approach to mind/body health. In 2007, she completed her 500-hour teacher training in all disciplines of holistic yoga in Rishikesh. She has since been registered with Yoga Alliance as E-RYT-500.
Maheshvari has many years of experience teaching Vinyasa based yoga at studios and gyms in her native country Germany. While there, she completed her M.A. thesis on the authenticity of yoga in the Himalayan foothills of Uttarakhand in 2010. She then moved on to facilitate Yoga Teacher Trainings in India and building her own holistic yoga centre with her partner, bhakti yogi and musician Yogi Pankaj Narayan (www.onelovecentre.com).
Maheshvari has also enjoyed training as Reiki and Acupressure Massage practitioner. She is passionate about holistic nutrition, environmental ethics & animal rights (ahimsa), and teaching yoga in a light and playful way. She now resides in Bielefeld, where she has opened her second yoga shala, bringing dynamic styles of yoga and teacher trainings to Germany's West (www.oneloveyogashala.com).
