War War Lwin Tun is the founder of OhmSantih Yoga. She has been teaching yoga since 2009.

War War discovered yoga in 2002 in an effort to seek respite from corporate life. She also wanted to find a way to improve her strained back and hamstrings that resulted from her love for running.  Through yoga, she became convinced of its immense benefits – her overall flexibility improved tremendously and consequently, her interest in the practice grew.

War War decided to enrol in a 200-hour Teacher Training course, followed by a more rigorous 500-hour program in Singapore. Her desire to deepen her knowledge of yoga brought her to the land of its origin, India, where she went on to learn the art of meditation from Sir TKV Desikachar at Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, Chennai. Sir Desikachar is considered to be one of the world’s most illustrious yogis. He devotes himself to spreading the teachings of his late father, Sri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, often referred to as “the father of modern yoga”.

Inspired to share with others the transformative power of yoga for the body and also the mind and spirit, War War completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher’s Training Certification course at the Paramanand Institute of Yoga Sciences & Research in Indore, India under the tutelage of Dr. Omanand, one of the chief disciples of Swamiji

War War also has an Advanced Certification in Training and Assessment (ACTA) accredited by the national credentialing system, Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ), affirming her foundational competencies as a trainer, curriculum planner and assessor in Singapore. Backed by her working background in the pharmaceutical industry, War War also understands anatomy and physiology, enabling her to better guide students with physical conditions.

Through OhmSantih Yoga, War War reaches out to those who share a similar desire to learn the true essence of yoga beyond the rudimentary physical aspects. Aside from modifying syllabi to suit one’s needs, War War also ensures she has a thorough understanding of each student, right down to their personalities and learning motivations.

War War strives to incorporate yoga philosophy and practices in her daily life and this has proven beneficial. As a result of her prenatal yoga practice, she had a smooth pregnancy and delivery. She was also able to restore and condition her body with postnatal yoga thereafter.

When War War isn’t on the mat, she loves to read, run, scuba dive and most of all, spend time with her baby girl. She credits the breathing techniques that she learnt from yoga practice in enhancing her other leisure pursuits, such as minimizing lactic acid build-up during her runs and staying underwater for a longer period of time during scuba diving.
