Susan's journey as a yoga instructor began in the mid-1990s, long before yoga exploded in popularity. A former dancer, she instantly connected with the sense of freedom available through the practice of yoga. After that, the rest is history, as Susan became part of the first wave of instructors to introduce yoga and its benefits to health clubs in Toronto.
Strongly influenced by Scaravelli (Esther Myers) and Anusara styles of yoga, Susan's teaching reflects the principles of grounding, breath and elongation of the spine to move past limitations with ease. Using this approach, she has been privileged to help many of her students experience the joy in 'firsts' -- discovering a pose for the first time or in a new way -- which is available to any individual, at any level. It is not uncommon to observe students in her class upside down in headstands or handstands, practicing arm balances or backbends, safely and with a sense of playfulness.
Susan currently teaches at The Adelaide Club and Esther Myers Yoga Studio. Her repertoire of classes includes slow paced and reflective, to vigorous and energizing. An E-RYT 200 since 2003, she also holds her 800 hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate from Esther Myers Yoga Studio.
