Shannon Harvey is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with an approved and active Registered Yoga School (RYS).
I started practicing yoga around 1995, just after the birth of my first son solely for the physical benefits. Very quickly I found there was much more to this movement than I realized. Why did I feel so much better than working out at a gym? I always left my mat feeling calm and whole, but why?
I wasn’t able to fully understand until I was pulled (literally) towards energy work and studying the chakras. It was then that I realized this powerful practice was meant to realign our energetic system and was so much deeper than just the physical movements. I started my journey towards teaching yoga in 2010 out of need rather than want. Since then I teach weekly as well as host retreats and workshops.
I still continue to practice, study, absorb and share.
Along with teaching yoga I am also a Usui Reiki Master, Karuna Reiki Master, Quantum Touch Practitioner, Thai Yoga Massage Therapist, Reflexologist as well as an Esthetician. I teach Reiki one on one and have passed this wonderful energy on to many others.
