Claire Martin Luxton is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS).
Claire has been teaching since 2017. Originally certifying as a Hatha-Flow Yoga teacher, she moved into the field of functional and adaptive application of Yoga with the study of Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Musculoskeletal Anatomy and Mindfulness Meditation.
She specialises in a gentle therapeutic application of these practices, for self-care purposes, particularly to help people balance the effects of daily chronic stress.
Working with groups and on an individual basis, Claire helps practitioners to discover movement that is most suited and of most benefit to their body's unique structure, in order to find more ease and a natural physical flow. Her overall aim is to help her students move with their body and not against it, subtly shifting from resistance to acceptance, and, in doing so allowing this ease to move through body, mind and heart. As part of re-establishing a positive relationship with the physical body, she takes her students on gentle exploration through underlying mental and emotional patterns that are also closely connected.
Claire trained initially with Esther Ekhart who is her core teacher in Yoga. She studied Yin Yoga with José de Groot. She is also greatly influenced by the teachings of Tracey Uber Cook, Paul Grilley and Judith Hansen Lassater.
