That's the squeeze so here is the juice!

About me, Kelly Dawn, born in the year of our LORD 1978. Was raised by my parents together until they divorced 1993.  Important detail as this life experience created opportunities for personal awareness and growth during the pre-teen years and beyond.

Skip forward: attending 5 different high schools between living with both parents in separate States; finally graduating HS in 1996 immediately followed by the death of a cousin whom shared birthday parties, family reunions, celebrations and holidays all through childhood; first experience with tragedy. This was life altering... as the cousin was just one year younger and I could have chosen to be with them in the car the night of the accident, but I wasn't feeling well so stayed with Grandma - but was awakened when the phone rang and heard her cry out at the news from her daughter.

Why share this ? Because this loss brought realization that life is precious and brief; so I began evaluating WHY AM I HERE... really and truly, what am I supposed to accomplish?

Well of course life does go on with the grief and there were moves, travels, pursuit of "institutional higher education" which I "quit" for various reasons but mostly because I was exhausted of traditional classroom schooling and wanted to be outside in the air... to breathe in life.

1999 - I joined the Navy delayed entry program

2000- Boot camp, Hospital Corpsman training, Aviation Medical Tech training

2001 - 2007: Active duty service at various duty stations around the world and a deployment to Iraq.

I was married in 2007 and separated only a few months later with a divorce in less than three years of marriage... come to find out he was living with his new girlfriend / fiance before we had even been to court for the divorce; again life proving that even the best laid plans are easily disrupted.

2010 - 2014: I was lost wondering again WHAT IS MY PURPOSE?  I enrolled in online learning; eh - still not my thing but it was something to keep me busy and I was able to travel while gaining knowledge and re-enlisted into the Navy Reserves,

2014 - current:  I was discharged from the reserves and brought back to Active Duty in support of the Navy/Marine Corps Reserves and have continued my service to "Protect and Defend the Constitution of these United States."

2020: I married for purpose of love, partnership and someone who challenges my abilities - he is wonderful and I do love his passions in our life.

As I am nearing the end of this career the pursuit of MY PURPOSE for the next part of life is starting with yoga and the ongoing personal development that is my journey.  I have shared the tragedy and pain of my life above because those are the times that made me aware that life is what I choose to experience, to pursue, to be involved with.  There were wonderful moments and there will be more wonderful moments as I accept that in this life I am the student and always will be.

Even as I guide others on their first yoga session; I will be learning...

learning to listen to the person before me

learning to sit in stillness

learning that this moment in life is brief and the purpose is to achieve full awareness

Thank you for your time
