Arliss Kurtz is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledged the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS). She trained under Jackie Chiodo of Joyful Yoga School in Raja Yoga, otherwise known as Patanjali's Royal Eight Limbed Path.
Currently, Arliss teaches Monday evening yoga classes at a local community club, private classes to friends and family, and will host the "Seaside Kurtz Yoga and Family Retreat" in Chemainus, BC on Vancouver Island April 28 - May 3, 2024.
The seaside retreat will include a financial wellness workshop facilitated by her husband, Ken, a financial advisor. Their daughter, Katelyn, a professional dancer, dance and acro coach, and choreographer will facilitate a dance workshop to help retreat participants connect mind and body in a dynamic, fun, and non-judgemental way. Their son, Kasey, a professional musician, will accompany the closing celebration on May 2 with his jazz acoustic guitar stylings.
In addition to her yoga practice, Arliss is a clinical social worker in private practice providing therapy, assessments, and public speaking on a wide variety of topics related to mental health, wellness, and psycho-social concerns.
