I switched from performing modern dance to teaching yoga. I discovered that balance is the basis of everything as a trained dancer. But for someone to stand on their own, one must be quite calm and composed on the inside. It demands a great deal of focus and discipline.
Dance is a sort of movement that sounds simple but demands focus, and the vinyasa yoga is nearly a straight continuation of it. Yoga specifically emphasizes being in the now for this reason: to let go of what no longer serves and to accept what comes without condemnation. This establishes harmony.
Life, in my opinion, is made up of a series of tiny moments. Either we notice them or we seem to dream through them. Likewise, this is a moment. Did you see that?
