Marina has been a student of yoga for 21 years. She began practicing at 16, looking for a way to accept herself and to help support her mental health. Eventually, she regularly practiced with Rodney Yee DVDs before deciding to take some classes locally. At 19 she dreamed of going to India to train as a teacher, however, she stayed and completed her Bachelors degree.
At the age of 30, at a crossroads in life, Marina decided to half follow that dream and looked into training as a yoga teacher. At the time, the only person she could find who had practiced longer than her (and was running a teacher training), was Vidya Heisel, at her Suryalila Retreat Center in Spain. The comprehensive 200 hour vinyasa training was life changing. Less than 3 weeks later, Marina returned to complete another week long intensive training with Vidya in Envision Yoga (a combination of Hatha yoga, Kundalini yoga, and NLP techniques).
Since her initial trainings, Marina has completed a 27-hour, 3-day intensive Kids and Family Yoga Teacher training with Rainbow Kids Yoga (Paris, France, 2017), partook in additional Anatomy for Yoga Instruction and Cadaveric study with Karen Kirkness at Meadowlark Yoga (Edinburgh, UK, 2018), remotely trained with Zabie Yamasaki on her Transcending Sexual Trauma Through Yoga Training (remote, 2018), and, finally, completed her 50 hour Yin Yoga Teacher training with Demelza Feltham of Demelza Yoga (Glasgow, 2019).
Post 2019 Marina began training as a psychotherapist in Scotland, however, she has since moved back to Los Angeles and is now in grad school obtaining her Masters in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT).
She offers remote and in person private and group yoga sessions throughout the Los Angeles area.
