Hi! I'm Daniele, explorer of outer and inner worlds and publisher of YoGamut.com.

As a real yoga nerd I'm interested in all things yoga, the whole gamut, the wide spectrum of yogic practice. On my website I share the things I get to learn through my studies, researches, and travels, while also involving other masters and practitioners from all around the globe in the never-ending mission of covering all the possible yoga-related topics.

The main fulcrum of my website though, is my practice, my workshops, my teachings, and guided meditations.

As an initiate to the Himalayan tradition I mostly practice Kundalini Tantra, Kriya Yoga, and Yoga Nidra - while also studying hatha yoga applied to my other passions, cycling and martial arts.

The history of my complicated relationship with spirituality and its physical aspects goes quite back.

I was born in 1982 into an atypical family, my parents among the first rasta in Italy didn’t give me any religious education, in the very catholic context of 80s Sicily this made me start asking questions very early.

At 14 I had already read the Zhuang Zi, the Tao Te Ching, and several other mystical texts, from Buddhism to Sufism, from C.G. Jung to C. Castaneda. That’s also when I started practicing Shotokan Karate and meditation with quite an enlightened teacher.

My late teens and 20s were in the spirit of music, first hip hop and breakdance, then a deep dive into experimental music and the subtle art of radical improvisation. My interest in ethnomusicology and traditional sounds from the world, together with a passion for soundscapes quickly fueled my craving for travel and exploration.

In my 30s, together with my partner Elena, I left everything and took on an old 1936 bicycle and started heading east, on a bike trip that brought me from Italy to Japan and then into South East Asia. During these first 2 years of travel, I came in contact with several spiritual traditions that re-awakened my passions for the occult human potential – from Dayak trance in Borneo to nomadic rituals in Kyrgyzstan, from ancient Taoist practices to modern Shinto fascination.

I lived in China for two years, teaching English in public schools and getting my cycle touring website cycloscope.net to become my full-time income.

A bike trip to the northernmost tips of Europe confirmed me I didn’t belong to that continent anymore, so I headed to Africa and explored and lived in the continent for 4 years. Again touching on extreme ways to express spirituality.

Here I came back to yoga and martial arts, meeting several incredible teachers who lightened a fire that turned me into a daily practitioner of these disciplines.

So that’s how my adventures brought me to India, where now I study yoga at some of the most respected institutions in the world.

From the prestigious Patanjala Yoga Kendra | Authorized Iyengar Yoga where direct disciples of B.K.S. Iyengar such as Usha Devi teach, to the Kundalini Yoga Ashram, founded by distinguished students of the Swami Rama lineage, who initiated me to the Himalayan Tradition of Kundalini Tantra and Kriya Yoga.
