I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance. I completed my SATYA Teacher Training RYT 200 hours at the Yoga Loft in Lindsay on June 24, 2018. I have also completed a 30 hour Restorative Yoga Teacher Training (August 6, 2021), a 28 hour Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training (February 27, 2021 and a 15 hour Yoga for Healthy Aging Teacher Training (October 19, 2019).
I have been teaching actively since November of 2018. I have had experience teaching many different types of yoga: namely Hatha, Vinyasa, , Restorative , Prenatal, Chair and Yoga Stretch.
I am presently teaching Hot Vinyasa Flow at a the Yoga Loft Yoga Studio in Lindsay once per week and I also teach Gentle Hatha, Chair Yoga and Yoga Stretch at the Activity Haven Senior Centre in Peterborough five times per week.
I am a retired Secondary School English and Physical and Health Education Teacher who had a very rewarding teaching career teaching many different types of fitness for 30 years. Pursuing my yoga teacher training towards the end of my teaching career was one of the best things I have ever done. I love teaching yoga in my retirement.
In my spare time I love to travel to new places. I also enjoy a variety of outdoor activities. In the winter I skate, and regularly downhill, and nordik ski. During the warmer months I spend a lot of time , gardening, canoe camping, paddle boarding and cycling. Paddle board yoga is especially fun. Regardless of what activity i do I always try to include some yoga even if it is just a "yoga snack" as a I call it; a simple pose or two a couple of times a day.
Now that I am a little more settled in with retirement I decided to join Yoga Alliance. I am looking forward to new experiences, connecting with other yoga professionals and take advantage of live workshops to help me to continue to grow as a yoga teacher.
