I have been practicing yoga since 2010. It is my way of continuing to move my body after 30 years of ballet training. In 2020, after two spinal surgeries and years of chronic illness related to Crohn’s Disease, I loudly heard the healing power of yoga’s stillness and meditation’s silence. Yoga and meditation showed me that the body’s power to heal is strong, as long as you are listening. Through yoga and meditation, I became aware of my body’s inner wisdom and clearly heard its ability to heal and guide me towards better health.
In the Spring of 2022, I completed my 200 HR YTT with Judi Harvin in Brookfield, Illinois. I have attended workshops on the effects of yoga and meditation in managing pain, integrative medicine, and meditation for care providers. My classes will focus on the connection between breath and asana as a means to hear one’s body. In doing so, it is my intention to allow the body’s strength and grace to bring healing, peace, and joy to all of my students.
I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS).
