I came to practice Yoga relatively late, in my 30’s. As teenager, I was a keen gymnast and kept up my fitness through various sports thereafter. When I discovered Yoga, I loved the variation Yoga has to offer – from slow gentle exercise to full on power workouts depending on what feels right for me on any given day.
What I like most: This variation is offered to anyone, no matter what Yoga experience and especially no matter what age. All it really takes is the right teacher. A teacher who can assess your experience and your ambition. A teacher who can design and guide you through a flow that is right for you at that time.
Once I learned that Yoga is not just about physical postures but also about a belief system of ethical guidelines and about a variety of tools to still the constant fluctuations of the mind, I was definitely hooked. Yoga’s ethical guidelines for both our interactions with ourselves and our interaction with others were closely aligned with my own beliefs.
As a master of constant thinking and worrying, I just loved Yoga's tools on the journey to quiet the mind. Having completed my Yoga teacher training with YogaUnion Bali, a Registered Yoga School (RYS), I am now a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance.
I believe that Yoga has a large role to play in improving physical and mental wellbeing for people of all ages. I have a particular passion to bring Yoga into the lives of 50+ as I believe that – while Yoga will not prolong our lives – it will definitely help us enjoy our lives in better shape as we age.
I aim to share my joy of Yoga with my students. My classes are designed to develop strength. They build on anatomy insights, on principles of strength training and they integrate Yogic philosophy.
I’d love to share my teaching with you at Yoga, You and Judi.
