I'm a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with an approved and active Registered Yoga School (RYS).
Since very little I've been intrigued by the meaning of movement and the memory that the body keeps. I consciously started my training in dance since 1997 with workshops in contemporary and classical dance mainly. As a teacher, in 2004, I discovered empirically, through my work with improvisation, the therapeutic benefits of dance, and since then I have devoted to research and develop in this discipline.
As part of my research of movement and body, I have spent the last 19 years developing my body awareness through different techniques of dance and movement as well as research from the theory and practice of anatomy, kinesiology, dancetherapy , yoga and somatic techniques.
For a little over two years I was working in Mexico to Tierra de Nadie Dance Theater Collective S.C. the Mailbox Cultural Art Center. I was part of this group as an interpreter and choreographic tasks and performing arts. During these years I focused my development techniques Aerial Dance, Contact Improvisation, acrobalance, Dance Theatre, Lemon and Release Technique.
During 2013, I attended the Graduate Dancetherapy at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and represented the university as an interpreter in the Classroom Stable Dance Group.
In addition, during this year I got my certification as a Yoga Alliance Yoga teacher Multi-style Vinyasa Flow with emphasis on the Kashmir Shaivism School of Yoga Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh, India (RYT 200).
On the other hand, I'm certified as an AeroYoga teacher by the AeroYoga Institute of Madrid, Spain. In 2014, I became certified as a Level 1 Instructor AcroYoga for what took out the Elemental, Lunar and Solar Immersions in Barcelona, Boulder and Los Angeles, respectively; I conducted an intensive workshop (90 hours) Thai Massage in the Sunshine Network Thai Massage School in Lahu Village, Thailand and practiced for a year in acro.yoga.thai in Barcelona. I also did a second AcroYoga Solar Immersion in Mexico City with Jason Nemer and Alexandra Ruiz.
In 2015, I was an assistant in a Lunar Immersion AcroYoga in Xalapa, Veracruz with Laura and Edna Acro Moon; and organizer, assistant and simultaneous translator for Teacher Certification Restorative Yoga, endorsed by the Yoga Alliance and delivered by Amit Raina of Kashmir Shaivism School of Yoga. In 2016, I was an assistant Immersion Elementary AcroYoga in Mexico, DF Sandra Erosa and Justin Caruso.
I am passionate about the idea of using dance and movement to help people, and bring the movement as a way of reconnecting with the body to as many people as possible; which I perceive as a need in my society. Reasons why in my project, BodyWords, I have as a mission to bring wellnesse and positively impact the development of our sense of community through movement.
The last two years have been developing techniques and AcroContact FlyingBody.
FlyingBody is a technique that combines air yoga yoga and dance on a swing soft fabric with two stirrups to exercise, strengthen and increase the flexibility of physical, energetic and emotional body and consciousness of the practitioner.
AcroContact is a fusion of post-modern dance technique known as Contact Improvisation and traditional postures AcroYoga. This technique of improvisation, listening to the body and what gives us the body that are interacting to create in the here and now new positions and transitions in the flow of a dance. Working with AcroYoga positions, exchanges weight, bone alignment and efficient and fluid motion.
Additionally, I'm part of the organizing committee of the AcroYogaFestMX which in 2016 is the 3rd year this festival brings AcroYoga closer to the community in Mexico City.
Finally, today I find myself working as an actress and dancer in Punt0cero Company directed by Lia Dominguez, in my quest to bring well-being not only through classes and workshops but also through the performing arts; that certainly brings not only being who plays but also for the public that their proposals are directed.
